Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
@6t5-gto,

Hey dude!. I’m glad to have some company. I’m getting ready to play another, (gifted lp), (OP)... Allman Brothers "Beginnings"

Wondering now if there may be a contest between "Beginnings" & "At Fillmore East"? This is kind of what I like to do. It doesn’t always work out.

First, I’m going to replay Other Lives "Rituals".

BTW, that was me that posted "How The West Was Won".

peace
Hey @knollbrent ,

Holly Cole is a wonderful artist!

Thanks for contributing here!
Felt like something really special tonight. You know, the kind of stuff that makes you remember why you're an audiophile. Or at least an audiophile wanna-be.....

Supertramp - "Cannonball" - 45RPM 12" Direct to Disk single. Holy cow! I wish all records sounded this good...
And now, for the rest of the album.......

Supertramp - "Brother Where You Bound"......

My favorite Supertramp album.
@slaw
Sorry, thought someone else was talking about the quality of How the West Was Won. Thanks for the heads up.
I like your competition. Let's hear your results, but Filmore East is a pretty strong live album.

Today:
Bob Marley  - Survival from the box set, not my favorite Bob album but it sounds really good in this pressing
Kenny Burrell....Bluesy Burrell with Coleman Hawkins on tenor and Tommy Flanagan on keys.
Saint Germain "Boulevard" (Complete Series)
           F Communications ‎2xLP – F022DLP  France

London Grammar "If You Wait"   2xLP 45rpm vinyl

Mazzy Star  "She Hangs Brightly"   Plain Recordings 180-gram vinyl
Van Halen "Diver Down" haven’t listened to this one in over 30 years...
SQ is surprisingly good.
John Mayall and The Blues Breakers w/ Eric Clapton "S/T"
Ides Of March "Vehicle"
Grand Funk "We’re an American Band"

BTW< I heard on my local radio that Grand Funk sold out more tickets at THE same venue than The Beatles at Shea Stadium... this made me feel very good...that there was a time they got their due!

Of coarse there were completely different audiences. The Beatles drew young girls who couldn’t even hold their bladders. GF drew the hippies who were glad to have the freedom of expression presented in the music.
Glen Hansard "Drive All Night" 45rpm

The GREAT Glen Hansard. Seek out all of his output.
Here is a darn good not very well known record...

King's Daughters & Sons  "If Then Not When"

You'll not see this anywhere else...….
..not the usual for me..
...but ....Beatles...."Penny lane"..
.....I really like the horn arrangement..and the bell on the fire engine is pretty cool.!
Grateful Dead / Wake of the flood

BTW Grand Funk "We’re an American Band" was the very 1st record I bought!
Following in @slaw 's footsteps......

Glen Hansard - "Drive All Night" 45rpm

So good. Can't really go wrong with a backing band of Greg Liesz, David Piltch, Jake Clemons and Eddie Vedder and Joe Henry producing. Just sayin'.....

Followed up by John Hyatt - "Feels Like Rain" for reasons that are obvious to anyone who's heard Glen Hansard's version of "Drive All Night".........
Kim Richey "Rise"
Emmylou Harris "Wrecking Ball" / Deluxe Edition/ 3rd lp outtakes
Alex Chilton "Bach’s Bottom" OP

up next...

Lenny Kravitz "5"  1st time on vinyl
Pieta Brown "One and All"

after that...

Tony Joe White "Rain Crow"  45rpm/dbl/lp
INXS "Listen Like Thieves"
Mighty Sam McClain "Give it up to Love" / still sounds wonderful

I think I'm going to start in on the Grateful Dead "Cornell '77" box
Not last night, but in the last week I’ve been drawn to the singing-songwriting of Harry Chapin :

Sniper and Other Lovesongs
Portrait Gallery
Living Room Suite

Chapin was a superb storyteller, and If you ever buy or listen to only ONE Chapin release it should be "Sniper".

It is filled with songs you will never want to forget. "Sniper" about the Texas tower gunman’s estrangement, "Better Place to Be" about the despair of the lonely everyman, and "Woman Child" describing the psychic anquish of a pregnant teenage groupie. And a more upbeat "Sunday Morning Sunshine" about the power of love.
