.....a recent record show find.

Ronnie Montrose "Open Fire"   (sealed/lp)
Randy California... Jimi's mentor............

"Kapt. Kopter & the (fabulous) Twirly Birds"
Alice Cooper/Killer, Lyle Lovett/My Baby Don't Tolerate, Bruce Springsteen/Born To Run
Boston - S/T

Haven't listened to this record in years. Brings back some great memories........
Listening to Ronnie Montrose "Open Fire" again.

Up next...The xx "S/T" & "I See You"

Had to flatten one of the lps above...

so, on now.... Haley Bonar "Golder"
Currently on.. Suzanne Vega "Tales From the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles"

..a mouth full....worth the listen though...
just began......Frazy Ford "Indian Ocean".. freshly cleaned and sounding very good!
YAZ - "You and Me Both"

Not my favorite from YAZ or Alison Moyet. But I haven't played it in years and it has a couple of decent highlights.
i listened to side b of da capo once  and vowed never again. side a, otoh, is as strong a set of songs as was produced in the 60s--"7+7 is" is a stone masterpiece.
An entire LP side containing one song, and that song having the title "Revelation", vividly brings back that era (1966-68). Alotta trippin' goin' on. Just about everybody I knew owned the 1st and 2nd Love albums, and a lot of San Jose groups included at least one song from them in their live shows. Love member Bryan Maclean is the half-brother of Maria McKee from Lone Justice.
The Doors "Morrison Hotel" /the German pressing from around 8-10 years ago. Very nice!

Another all-nighter..........I do think.
Found a mint original first pressing of the first Sabbath album at a junk store. $1. That don’t happen much no more.

So I played it today for the first time, even though I bought it a few years back.

(listening to Mazzy Star, right now)
Just back from my LRS - Plaid Room Records - Loveland, Ohio. Got a pretty good stash of bargain basement LPs. All are hand picked and in at least VG condition.

Atlanta Rhythm Section - "a rock and roll alternative" $1
Dan Fogelberg - "High Country Snows" $1
Robert Cray - "Strong Persuader" $1
Hooters - "One Way Home" $1
Strawbs - "Bursting at the Seams" $1.99
Styx - "The Grand Illusion" $2.99
10cc - "Deceptive Bends" $1.99
BoDeans - "Outside" $2.99

Stopped in Earworms Records in Milford, Ohio and picked up:

Cat Stevens - "Teaser and the Fireboat" $5

Gonna clean them all and start listening shortly. Where should I start?........
Robert Cray is an easy recommendation.

10cc is a great sounding record!

That's a start?
@reubent,

BTW, I've been slowly collecting various pressings of 10cc.

Just cleaned my yellow vinyl pressing of "Sheet Music" from (Not Bad Records) label. We'll see?
@slaw - Cool. BTW, I just started the night with the 10cc record. I like it!
@reubent ,

I hope you'll come to love it as do I.

If you find this type of music satisfying, check out XTC, or Jellyfish...

Porcupine Tree "Fear of a Blank Planet"
Concrete Blonde - "Bloodletting" Just arrived (on Sunday morning!) from Amazon Prime.
@reubent,

What in the hell would we do without Amazon? My doorbell rang this morning. My Jason Molina/Songs"Ohia "Travels in Constants" (lp) arrived. That's what I'm talkin' about!

By the way...the JI lp about sounds amazing!
OK, funny one. I bought a Mofi copy of Dylan's Freewheeling, my favorite of his, on dual 45rpm 180 gram vinyl in mono a month or two ago and has gotten a good amount of platter time. It is truly spectacular.
So the funny part,  I started on side three and accidentally started it on 33 1/3 instead of 45 and the result was actually... Awesome! Bob Dylan's Dream was surprisingly listenable, so much so I listened to it three times. I sincerely enjoyed it.
 I highly encourage giving it a try, and the MFSL copy of Freewheeling. Incredible.
Dan Fogelberg - "High Country Snows"

I don't own much Bluegrass music, and I guess this one would be "Bluegrass Lite". Anyway, when I saw the lineup of musicians, I could not resist. Turns out, it is a pretty good record. I'm really enjoying it. Check out this lineup:

Dan Fogelberg, Herb Pedersen, Ricky Skaggs, David Grisman, Chris Hillman, Al Perkins, Charlie McCoy, Russ Kunkel, Emory Gordon, Jr., Jim Buchanan, Jerry Douglas, David Briggs, Vince Gill, Michael Hanna and a special appearance by Doc Watson.
Styx - "The Grand illusion". Just bought a very nice used copy. Haven't heard it in many years. I'm enjoying it, but the SQ is not great. Was hoping for some analog magic, but it's just OK.
