Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Eric, I love all those back stories that you have :)

Listening to another copy or Pretzel Logic this morning.  This one is in excellent condition and may be the keeper of the bunch.
Mike what a wonderful post and research, I dig horns :-) I am after all a failed Trombone player....
@bdp24 back stories behind the beat

just another title for the book, audio book...

i think i could give some energy to a project like that....
Respighi
Church Windows
Poema Autunnale
Ruggiero Rocco, Violin
Keith Clark
Pacific Symphony Orchestra
Reference Recordings 1984
@skyscraper, a very nice precis Mike. Thanks for that.  Hope you had fun researching and writing it.
Warming up with PJ Harvey "TBYML"

The more I listen to her, she reminds me of a more intense Sophia Pfister.
John Mayall & The Blues Breakers
"A Hard Road"
Sundazed/mono
Sounds really good on my stereo cart with phono stage in mono.
Just arrived today....

Luna - Bewitched. Gotta Groove Records, supposedly 2012, but I have a feeling later than than. Originally Elektra 1994 (CD only).

This should be fun, have loved this ‘album’ on CD, and always jealous of @slaw for having this on a reissue.
@bkeske, Brian,

Look on the back jacket....does yours have,
GGR2012-001
First Pressing
written on the top right hand corner?

This originally came out on RSD that year I believe. Got mine at a later date.
Steve, mine does not state ‘first pressing’, the last numbers are ‘-001’.
The reason I said that is in the dead wax mine has ‘2019’ in the string, not 2012, as indicated on Discogs.

Regardless, it sounds great, and so much nicer on vinyl. Glad I got it.
Terry Reid "Move Over for Terry Reid" pp/Epic
(even though there’s no title"
Really good record!
@slaw

Steve, I missed a release on that Luna album. Per the dead wax, it is actually a 2021 pressing (with 2019 in the string), and the dead was numbers match. I totally missed that version.
Brian,

If you ever run across Luna’s box set at a good price, snag it.

BTW, my Bewitched does have 2012 in the dead wax, matching the back jacket.
Funny, so far this afternoon/evening, I've heard Highway 61 covered by two artists. PJ Harvey & Terry Reid.
Brian,

I pre-ordered Joni’s latest 4 lp box from her archives. ( first four studio lps) If you’re interested, www.popmarket.com has it shipped for $100.00
@slaw

Thanks for the heads-up Steve. I have all those on really clean vinyl I just purchased recently. All except Blue that is. The only early LP or hers I’m missing. I have no idea why that album is so darn expensive vs all the others ‘surrounding’ it. So, for right now, I will probably pass right now and concentrate on finding a reasonable VG+ to ‘minty’ condition original release Blue.

Instead, with that money +, I finally, after much thought and consideration, just minutes ago ‘dove in’ and bought four matched Genalex Gold Lion (gold pin) 12ax7 tubes for the Hagerman. I tripped into the rabbit hole.
Good luck with the new tubes Brian.
............
Terry Reid "River"
4 Men With Beards

Another really good lp. I believe this was Terry's answer to "If I Could Only Remember My Name".
Brian,
I have a M re-master of Blue that sounds great to me if you're interested?
@slaw

Good luck with the new tubes Brian.

itchy fingers 😁

I’m sure they will be very nice. Got them for a pretty good price, so could probably easily sell them for what I am buying them for should I decide another direction. Just want to ‘play around’ a bit with the new toy.
Steve, I just may be interested indeed. Perhaps also that second mymat if you still have the material.
Ten Years After "S/T"
Sundazed/mono
again, sounding very good. The plan is when I dismount the Sussurro, I’ll put on the new JA Mitchell silver cart clips then mount the Ortofon Cadenza mono w/origin live catridge enabler.
Traffic  'John Barleycorn Must Die'   Great album, so glad I have it.

Stevie Wonder  'Talking Book'  I have had this since it first released.  Wonderful Stevie!

Love  'Forever Changes'  Remaster/reissue, a Rhino release, pressed in Germany.  Excellent!  One of the greats from the Summer of Love, 60s era.
seriously, what fun....

I got a nice box from Walker and will be comparing his system with my hybrid Nitty Gritty / Brooks Berdan system.

Steve - I ordered the Joni box for Bro in Laws birthday, he has a MoFi Ultra w Ortofon Bronze, he looooooves Joni.

Tommy Tutone - S/T
Yes indeed Jim ;-)

Just had to play in da hole. Have read some good things about the Gold Lion’s.....so.....what the heck.....givem a try.
Greg - R Lee J just released memoir... Last Chance Texaco ( one of my top ten songs..... )
Joel,

I'm always recommending expensive box sets....Traffic Studio box is awesome. Of course they are now available individually.
Steve.....did I miss something? When did you get the Ortofon Cadenza mono?
I didn’t think you had a mono cart prior.
Manfred Mann "Pretty Flamingo"
Sundazed/stereo
"let’s go get stoned"...

This lp sounds great!
Yeah Brian, I bought it in a package deal with my Classic 3 Sig SE.

It’s just been so long since I had it on. I’m slow to make changes but I think that can be a good thing.
got in a M copy today of Eric Clapton - There’s One in Every Crowd

Another layer of texture revealed....says the cat upon discovering tail....own tail....
