@dayglow

I get the vibe that opera/individuals are not a major interest to you?

I have a number of opera boxes, and also sonata LP’s for solo piano, violin, etc. Not always my first choice, but do play them when in the mood or want that change. Primarily symphonies, orchestral, and quartets, & chamber are my the type I listen to most.

Hiroshima-ST Side 2

Crowbar-The Serpent Only Lies Side 3

Olivia Newton John-Greatest Hits Side 1

Eric Clapton-Slowhand Side 1

Jefferson Starship-Red Octopus Side A

With only 1 Audiophile SQ recording is a disappointment. Midnight Mama has demo level SQ. "How Long Blues" makes a solid demo track.

@bkeske   I also are aware of your classical posts. I get the vibe that opera/individuals are not a major interest to you?

@hifiguy42

There is so much material, I feel like I have a whole world to discover.

Oh, indeed there is. Part of the enjoyment is learning how they all fit into the big picture and puzzle often referred to as ‘classical’. The ‘modern’ composers are some of my favorites, Stravinsky is incredible.

Enjoy the journey.

@bkeske

Thanks!  I am trying to get into some classical music after stumbling along on this big marble for 54 years, and your posts are very helpful in that regard. Mostly "modern" stuff like Shoenberg, Crumb, and Shostakovich so far but I'm trying to be open to everything that comes my way. There is so much material, I feel like I have a whole world to discover.

Dire Straits / Brothers In Arms
2014 Mobile Fidelity 45rpm RE, otig. 1985

i got my Claim Form for the MoFi settlement, this $60 LP qualifies for a $3 award. I prefer it’s sound over my 1985 OP. I have just a few MoFi’s, not all are sonic improvements over the originals. My claim would come to a whopping $12, I’m giving that up to MoFi and hope they weather the storm.

A nice mix on the last day of June!  All had above average SQ. Easily Nugent's 2nd best studio recording with solid SQ. Great comeback album for P/P&M "Forever Young" is 5* Baby's-ST debut is severely overlooked IMO. Close SQ battle between Ross/P/P&M but Concord Jazz takes another SQ crown!
