Supertramp - Crisis! What Crisis? 1975 A&M Records
A great album that doesn't get enough credit in the shadow of Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America.
@puffball08 Daniel - Deerhoof - Mountain Moves on the streamer… enjoying this… thanks ! |
The 2055 I have is the ‘granite’ plinth as well. That sold me on it. Just a simpler belt drive version of the ‘rock’ direct drive tables. |
@bkeske not familiar with the belt drive KD series, but I know the direct drive stuff is awfully good. I’ve owned a number of dd tables, Pioneer, Sony, Dual etc. So far this block of artificial granite is my favorite. Joni Mitchell-Court and Spark 1980 Nautilus RE The Band-Rock of Ages 2012 Mofi RE

@sbank - Hey Spencer. Thanks for the recommendation of Robbie Robertson - "How to be Clairvoyant". It came yesterday and I had my first listen yesterday afternoon.
So my impressions are mixed. I like the songs, I'm lukewarm on the production. The bass is mixed a bit heavy and wooly IMHO. I like the production quality of the S/T release much better. But the S/T release is from 1987. Older than 30 y.o. scotch. And smoother too... I give it another go in the next few days. Maybe it's aged a bit since my first listen.

So @sbank how was Riders on The Storm ?… |

@mammothguy54 - I bought my NM/NM- copy of Danny and the Fat Boys - "American Music" two weeks ago for $40. It is a fantastic album overall, although I don't love the first 2 selections on the first side. They are not bad, they are just a style/genre I don't love. However, everything else is simply amazing to me... |

I have a Kenwood 2055 sitting in my basement. Have had since new back in the mid-70's. Loved that table, but just had too many issues after to bringing it upstairs, to check out vinyl again, to keep it in service going forward with any re-journey into vinyl. For sentimental reasons, Ive just never thought about getting rid of it. The 2055 is a belt drive vs the 500 and I assume 600 series which were direct drive. |
“The Rock” tables are very rare around here and I couldn’t let this one pass by. It’s a beast for sure. Needed a new dust cover and hinges, and a decent power cord. Had a 681eee on it, which sounded fine but NOT mp-200 fine. In the process of integrating it I decided to try it hooked to the MA-352 onboard MM phono card before running it through the Channel Islands PEQ. A bit shocked honestly. The MA-352 phono stage is probably decent by most standards but I was instantly reassured of just how effing good the CIAudio is. Jerry Garcia-Garcia (Compliments) 1974 Round Records |
@j_husker - Congrats on the vintage Kenwood TT. I've always wanted one of the Kenwood "The Rock" turntables since I first saw one in the early '80s. There is a guy locally who has a kd-550 he may want to sale. I really should go take a look at it... |
@j_husker I bet that sounds wonderful, the Nak 200 is sweet.. enjoy ;-) |
