Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

At this moment in time, Van Der Graaf Generator, The Aerosol Grey Machine. Thinking either Can or Bowie next.

Karl Böhm conducts Beethoven - 9 Symphonies. Wiener Philharmoniker. Deutsche Grammophon box set 1972.

Have not spun a Beethoven cycle for a while, so pulled Böhm, as I have not listened to this cycle for quite some time.

@noromance

Very interesting. I played a bit through Tidal on the bedroom system before crashing for the day. Noticed there were two versions, one sounded better. But, too late, so had to get to sleep. Will check it out further on the main rig.

@bkeske Interesting, huh? Worth a listen. Recording is decent considering 1981 digital.

Some time to spend on LPs so,... Calvin Russell, "Sounds From The Fourth World" One Meatball, lol, The Avett Brothers, "True Sadness" & Chris Cornell, "Songbook" just got it... that voice though, Led Zep's Thank You - SO good!

Haresuite – Circle Of Friends (Haresuite 1983)

...

Mary Lu Walker – Middle Age, Middle Class, Mama Songs (K&R 1979)

This is an oddity. Songs in the naive country folk style from a Mama to her growing up kids. Cute and musical. Very nice recording. Little gem.

Harry Belafonte, Belafonte At Carnegie Hall (Analogue Productions)

Leon Russell, Carney (Analogue Productions)

R.E.M., Lifes Rich Pageant, (I.R.S, first press)

Spoon, Lucifer On The Sofa, (Matador)

@slaw

Was able to find what I was interested in from RSD, this morning.

Good on ya Steve.  Enjoy ‘em in good health.

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers / Damn The Torpedoes
1979 Backstreet Records

@bslon Thanks. Re: RSD today. Happy to report I got everything on my list and then some. I was 75th in line. When I got in line at 5 am, with my earphones and a beach chair, it was 39*. Probably didn’t need to be quite so macho about it - there were plenty of records. All that frenzy turned out to be rather anticlimactic. I only saw a couple of people with stacks big enough to suspect scalping was afoot. A pretty good & friendly crowd really.

@noromance

Itzhak Perlman, André Previn, Shelly Manne, Jim Hall, Red Mitchell – It’s A Breeze (Angel 1981)

Holy smokes Brian, that is interesting indeed. Gonna have to look into that one!

Edit: Found it on Tidal

Went to the LRS today & found this "Fabric" release on frickin' vinyl! I have many of the "Fabric" series on CD but have never seen any vinyl releases. A nice surprise.

Joni Mitchell - Blue. Reprise reissue, mid 70’s I believe, originally 1971

@spiritofradio James, looks like you found a few. Sorry I was busy, sent a PM but I think you missed it.

@j_husker

Very nice. I know James hit his RSD store today. I was thinking about it, to get the Sandy Denny release….but too many other things to do today. I have a feeling they didn’t sell-out all their copies, so may get it yet.

In an effort to keep the local economy flowing-

@ricmci Dude!  I love that record.  Might be my favorite Caravan album.  Don’t recall you posting here before. If not - big welcome. Keep ‘em coming.

@bkeske +1 on Mr. Gone.  I like that album now a lot more than I used to.  Maybe I’m getting more open minded…
