Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges Ruth - VMP

Bill Evans - Symbiosis -

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things - 45rpm Pallas pressing - excellent

Dude! excellent set.

@christjon That is a bummer.   No excuse for that sort of thing.  But what a great record.  Welcome to the thread.  Glad you made your first post here.  Again, welcome.

@spiritofradio that is great to hear, I am going to ask VMP to replace this copy and hope that copy #2 comes out like yours. It is a really great record. I saw Lyle a number of times around this record going back to Pontiac. Would really love to have some excellent reissues of all of them.

@6t5-gto @slaw

I’m happy to report that my copy of JJR is flawless and together with its rich SQ makes it one of my favorite recent additions.

Bill Evans Trio Sunday At The Village Vanguard. Bummed the record was shipped today in a simple padded envelope bending all corners, but the vinyl is ok and a great pressing.

After a couple of spins in the Degritter this pressing of Lonesome Crowded West is significantly better than the previous version. Happy, as this is one of my favorite albums of the last 30 years

@reubent Tom, Plaid Room does a great job of marketing and they have a great website and good customer service. We have a great local record store that I support but I probably buy more new records from Plaid Room due to the convenience factor.

@slaw true, this copy of Joshua Judges Ruth has to be returned, disc 1 is warped like crazy and side 1 of disc 2 has a pressing flaw almost through the entire side. On a good note, the SQ is very good

Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West - giving the VMP pressing a shot as the previous reissue had poor quality noisy vinyl and mediocre SQ

Rhiannon Giddens With Francesco Turrisi – There Is No Other (Nonesuch 2019)

Recommended.

Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges Ruth - VMP

Bill Evans - Symbiosis -

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things - 45rpm Pallas pressing - excellent

Ella Fitzgerald-Ella Swings Brightly with Nelson(V6-4054) Side 1

Glenn Frey-No Fun Aloud Side 1

Spyro Gyra-Carnaval Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Slade-Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply Side 2

Jennifer Rush-Heart Over Mind Side 2

Yes-Close To The Edge Side 1 SQ*

The Charlie Daniels Band-Windows Side 1

Neil Young/Crazy Horse-Live Rust Side 3

Carnaval is a solid Audiophile(SQ) recording not demo disc level but few are. SQ* Yes was very close to Audiophile SQ, might have been into the music more then being analytical? Only Live Rust was compromised by the recording quality.

@bslon Thx for the kind words!

@slaw thanks for asking, very kind.

had my follow up with the surgeon last week. He said I’m at about 60%, which is about a week ahead of schedule for most.

@big_greg  @slaw and All who support Plaid Room Records, Thanks. This is my local record store, in nearby Loveland, Ohio, just about 10-15 minutes from me. They are really great people and I appreciate having them here.

Stopped in today, for FOMO due to Greg's comments. Picked up one new record off of the "new releases" mailer:

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - "Deja Vu" 50th Anniversary Remaster

Have an old, wreaked copy. Finally springing for a new replacement. Managed to walk out with only one album. Maybe a first...

Radio Birdman / Radios Appear
1978 Sire

Aussie punk rock, indie rock, garage rock, proto-punk, surf rock?

The Bottles / S-T
1979 MCA

Too bad they only did one album, good stuff—power pop. It’s hard to get past “Look At Julie” without a replay.
