What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

Homeschool Valediction.... Adelitas Way.

Qobuz on the plane, gotta love modern tech!
IV .., Godsmack.

Qobuz on the plane.
Added a Dragonfly Black v1.5 to my travel experience, really makes a huge difference even from a mobile phone.
One of my Favorite albums of all time -

Joni Mitchell Hejira.

Sublime.

On Tidal
U2 - "All That You Can't Leave Behind" on the Spoofy. Love the album, don't love the SQ.
Unfortunately a lot of U2 albums are that way, great music and songmanship but crafted for the modern world with high compression and high loudness wars numbers.
I was playing around with headphone cables this morning, listening to Steely Dan Gaucho on Qobuz, hi-res.  Conclusion - switching cables doesn't seem to make all that much difference (Cardas Clear balanced cables, the $600 Audeze single-ended cable that comes with the LCD-4, and some $100 cables I bought off Etsy).
That's very interesting Greg.
I was considering better cables for my Meze cans but maybe not then!
@uberwaltz  I can't remember which headphones you are using...

Danacables has a Black Friday sale starting on Nov 29th. I found their Lazuli Reference to be very good with my Focal Utopias.

Unlike Big Greg's experience, I have found cabling differences readily apparent across a number of HiFiMan cans (mid priced to higher priced) that I own, as well as the Focal Utopia.
David.
Fairly cheaper end Audeze and/ or Meze cans right now.
A better pair are on my Xmas list but not sure if I have been naughty or nice this year......

However another perspective is always useful even if it does make the situation more confused.

🤔🤔
Uber, do you hear big differences when you switch out cables in other parts of your system? If so, it might be worth investing in some different headphone cables.  If you're like me and don't perceive dramatic differences, maybe spend your money on another part of your system or buy more music.
Greg
Cable swapping beyond having some half decent Straightwire ic and home made speaker and power cables is not high on my agenda.
I found it to be a very expensive and at times confusing rabbit hole.

But as the headphone cables are very basic I thought there might be some mileage to it.

Think I will go with......
Buy more music!
I have decent interconnects and power cords throughout my systems, but don't hear huge differences, if any. I've experimented with headphone cables and now only buy them for function, not sound quality - different lengths, different terminations, etc.

Changing earpads has been more beneficial for me, especially in terms of comfort.
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell

When I was 12 this album came out and I knew 2 songs on it and loved them but was not sure if I could spare my limited album money on Black Sabbath, especially with a replacement singer.

Years later for the price of a CD or 2 for Tidal and Qobuz, I can hear every single Sabbath track and realize I should have bought the album in 1980. This album is my new favorite hard rock album.
Dio was the natural replacement for Ozzy but still a shock and hard to accept for the hard core Sabbath fans.

But yes he did a fantastic job imho.
It is amazing that the album ever got finished and released considering all the other personell issues going on at the same time!

Now I do need to find some Sabbath on vinyl, I do not have one single album!
@uberwaltz  - I saw Larkin Poe open for Elvis Costello at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville a few years ago. I was shocked! I had never heard of them, and they were Awesome! They also played as the backing band for Elvis at that show. Fantastic!

BTW, going to see Elvis Costello and the Imposters at Taft Theater in Cincinnati tonight.
Heaven and Hell is a great Sabbath album!  I saw them when I was a teenager with Dio and saw them a couple of years ago with Ozzy.  Both were great shows.

I'm not listening to Sabbath this morning.  Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat, Qobuz
Chet Baker - The Legendary Riverside Albums, Qobuz Hi-Res.  I'm not crazy about his singing, but his playing and the bands he had...
@reubent

Meant to ask how was Costello live the other night?

And I am liking this new Van Morrison album a lot.
The first track has some serious bass you can feel!
@uberwaltz  - Unfortunately, I woke up with a stomach virus/flu that morning and was unable to go. It wouldn't have necessarily been the first time I got sick in a concert venue bathroom, but that's a different story, from a different time......

Really bummed that I couldn't go, but didn't want to go out in public with a fever and nausea.
@reubent That's a bummer.  I've seen Elvis 2 or 3 times now, he always puts on a great show.
Black Rose ... Thin Lizzy.

Qobuz hires

I don't think there is a much better example of Lizzy blistering twin lead melodic guitar attack than on the title track of Roisin Dubh!
