Emmet Cohen "Future Stride"
Qobuz (24/96)
Although I'm a fan of Emmet I'm not sure about this one. He's a gifted pianist for sure but the ragtime influenced stride just isn't my thing. Some tracks (i.e., "Second Time Around", "My Heart Stood Still") may tempt me to have another listen to this album. Maybe.

@16f4 I really liked Arlo Parks. She's easy on the ears and I enjoyed her poetry and lyrics. |

Mellow R&B, think Lauren Hill. |
Paolo Fresu: "Alma", ACT, Qobuz HR
Someone made a good suggestion recently, to accompany our de facto recommendations with a few words Paolo Fresu is my new discovery and I can't stop listening to him. He's a modern Sardinian Jazz trumpeter. Music is similar to that of Nils Petter Molvaer. |

Emmet Cohen - Future Stride, Qobuz Hi-Res. This sounds so good with my "new" DAC. I'm starting to question why I have a vinyl front end. Or how much I would have to spend to get it to sound this good. I still love spinning records, that is probably the main reason. |
