"What a relief!!!"

For 25 out of the 30 years or so that I’ve been in the wonderful world of high-end audio, I never was really totally happy and satisfied with any of the high-end audio systems that I so diligently assembled together.  Seems that something was always missing, until about 4 years ago, when I put together a system that ended up becoming so very much satisfying and compelling to me, I came to the conclusion that it was the audio system that I would ride off into the sunset with.  No more experimenting with gear for this old audiophile.  I’m in a wonderful place, and it feels soo good.  Now, I’m retired and content, for which my wife and my wallet thank me.  It’s such a relief.   Now, all I do is relish in the beauty of the music, while sipping on a glass of fine vintage red wines.  I have a buddy who still loves his 40 year old Klipschorn speakers, which he drives with his 40 year old Sansui receiver.  He has loved the sound of his Klipsch so much for all these years, he says he’ll never change anything.  My audio system is quite different from my buddy’s, who thinks I’m crazy for spending as much as I did on it.  I’m sure there’re many other audiophiles out there that are in my shoes as well.  Just thought I’d share a happy audiophile story.  Happy listening.

We need more journey story like this...

Congratulations!

I am myself very happy by my system/room +headphone system for peanuts costs...

I even pity many with very costlier system instead of being  envious,...

I know what i will do with  15,000 bucks instead of my 1000 bucks though...

But over 15,000 will be useless  for me and my knowledge ...

Then my satisfaction result from knowledge not resignation...

I called this state where i am : "minimal acoustical satisfaction threshold"...

To reach the optimal state of acoustical satisfaction , i need 15,000 bucks not 1000 ...

But trust me minimal  acoustical  satisfying  state is not synonymus with any acoustic  frustation...

A natural timbre experience associated with all acoustical spatial cues are enough ...

But it takes 15,000 to go higher or high end  when you know what to do nothing more ....

It's really nice when you get to a point in which the system is dialed in and sounding great, and you pretty much have everything you could want , then its time to sit back and get into the music for there would be no system without it. Its really about the music.

Good that you are enjoying your system so much now.  Can you share with us what was missing and what you changed to enhance your enjoyment?

Congratulations on your arrival, that is a nice system. I still have ways to go in my journey.
