Because he can and does often. It’s easy when you know all the answers or makes it up as he goes along. No effort on his part, just a few key strokes helping to save those who can’t save themselves. Such a noble endeavor, don’t you think? Notice in most of his posts, the frequent use of exclamation marks!! So he must be right huh?

The OP did not ask for your predictable opinion, yes, like the ones you share on many other threads. He only asked if anyone has tried it.

I've tried it…….it works!  The distributor was kind enough to send me one.....if I didn't like it, send it back.....I still have it.  Basically it drops the noise floor, and we all know what happens when you drop the noise floor.  I'm sure it will have a different success rate in different systems, but in mine, it couldn't be denied.  I still need to play around with it, try different locations and cables perhaps...….I'd like to take it out of the system again now that I am used to it, just to help put my finger on exactly what is happening!  It's just one of those things where you say ok, tonight I'll take it out and reconfirm what it's doing...….and the little voice in your head is saying No don't take it out.....I like it!!  lol

I haven’t heard it, so all I can do is ask questions.  I already thought that digital had a pretty low noise floor, which is a significant reason that I prefer it to analog.  I’ll never forget my first CD , a recording of Debussy Images For Orchestra (the dealer threw it in free with the CDP) and hearing the music suddenly emerge from what seemed like the infinite depth of Outer Space.  I was instantly hooked.
  I can see where such a device might be useful for Ethernet, because perhaps, somehow, some noise enters in the journey  from from the ISP to my streamer.  I don’t actually believe that, but I am allowing for a hypothetical.  I can also see where it benefit people who use PCs as streamers, because computers have been demonstrated to add audible noise.  However, streamers are dedicated computers that have been optimized for music playback and already do a lot to lower noise floor(s), so My prejudice would be that anyone with a decent streamer or reclocking DAC won’t notice any difference .
  As for value, let’s say such a filter benefits people who use PCs or a really inexpensive streamer.  The price of this tweak is close to the price of the PC itself.  Of course, if it really is worthwhile it may drop in price in a few years and be of greater value, and we all define value differently anyhow

Tried the usb ext-1 between my cd transport and dac.  Did not like it at first as the Sound changed but worsened.  Things got smaller and the soundstage collapsed.  However, with continued play the sonics really improved showing greater clarity and delicacy.  I have the Reference USB and LAN filters ordered and on their way.

The LAN filter is superb.  Very audible improvement in the soundstage, lower noise floor and ambience.  Much bigger impact than the USB filter for sure.  A definite keeper.
