I'm sure someone out there has already come up with a few mods to improve performance.  Maybe a new $500 filter assembly made with carbon fiber and whale baleen so as not to keep the sound "cleaner"...

....I'm wondering if there's a connection re speaker cables, ic's, and the various 'n sundry that gets lashed about round here....

Actually, a tonearm with a vac has some draw, but one would have to cope with the constant 'background hiss' and the oft chance a surge would make your stylus weight go into the 100's...
