amoeba is great (first choice) but also try Rasputin's Recycled Records in several (SF) bay area locations.
In Las Vegas it is pretty much Record City.

If you have time I'll offer to host you for a vinyl listening session at my place.
Also in Las Vegas we have Zia Records. They have two locations. Each location has a fair selection of new and used vinyl. Record City has an outstanding selection and the prices are fair. We also have a rare vinyl shop called Wax Trax. The operator is rude and his vinyl is way over priced but they have a super selection. Most locals will not deal with him.
Wax Trax in Vegas was my worst ever Record store experience.I wouldn't try to buy a record there if it was the last record shop on earth.A couple places on Sahara not far off the Strip (Record Outlet ?) were good.

Vegasears

Which is why I didn't bother mentioning it. I was also not impressed by Zia, but have only been to the one on West Sahara.

None of these shops in Las Vegas compare to Amoeba in SF, Berkeley, or LA, or Rasputin for that matter. I'd rather make the pilgrimage to CA than shop here.
Clio09, The Zia by the college has a pretty good section of New vinyl. It's grown from few bins of an entire wall length. Their used is poor at best.
One more vote for Record City (Sahara) in Vegas! I was in town last week for our Field Readiness Seminar and I'm glad I took the time to visit the store. Great service, great selection of old school R&B and Jazz, and a good grading system, if you pick a shot LP the guy will tell you by looking at the sticker. And the bonus was finding out on checkout that used LPs are less 25%. You know you got a sweet deal when you don't mind carrying 15-20 LPs as carry-on luggage over a 10,000 mile flight!
Amoeba in SF is a remarkable store. I've not been to the SF store, but the Santa Cruz Streetlight was very good.
