I was told some of my albums may be collectors pieces...where do you research the value of old albums? In particular I was told the Sgt. Peppers album is a collectors album due to the good condition and the "cut out" insert?
They are ALL collectors pieces to me!!....just curious.
popsike.com is very interesting. I have no intention of selling any of my vinyl but it's always fun to see what things are being collected and how much the market will bear. It's amazing to me how much my Mickey Mantle baseball cards are worth even using a conservative condition rating. I doubt much of my vinyl is worth much though as they were somewhat abused in my teenage years!
one way to get a realistic idea of what a given LP is worth is to do 'closed auctions' search on ebay - this will tell you what people have actually been paying for it.
for a 'cold reality' check, pick up a goldmine guide. if by 'good' you mean 'mint' cover and record and label and inserts, and original pressing...now you're talkin some money.....overgrading records is now sweeping this marketplace.
