I have the Sr orange fuses in both of my systems, and 9 components in total. I bought them all at the same time, got 30% off . Was a $1600.00 investment, and well worth the money. The fuses were the last tweak in my system. I don't have the 200 plus runtime hours on them yet, but there was a noticeable change instantly.
One of the best investments i made was room treatments. I have roughly $50,000.00 worth of gear in my main system listening room, i bought Vicoustic diffusers, and 2 sets of SR frequency transducers. For $2000.00 they changed the size shape and sound of the soundstage & presentation the most. I have absorption panels in place as well. My room is 13 feet x 19 feet, and i feel like i am sitting in a huge concert hall. I have taken great efforts to be thoughtful as to what i have added to my systems to achieve the sound i was looking for. A Saturn 103 C power conditioner with all good quality power cables, has given me a ZERO NOISE FLOOR. I hear dead silence in between beat of music or lyrics sung. The room is as critical as the gear, once you get them married, it is musical bliss.

@hilroy ---what did the SR frequency Transducers do? I have 18 SR HFT's and I really don't see a change.

I have 6 in total, 1 on the wall directly in front of me, 2 at the first reflection point of the speakers. 1 directly behind me and 2 more on either side of me where i sit. In my room, what they did was make the soundstage wider and more pronounced. they separated the instruments more if you will. I am hearing acoustic guitars and snare drums more focused off to the sides. It sounds like i am surrounded now, and that the stage has disappeared. It is hard for me to explain as i may not know all the correct terminology. I just know that there was a significant improvement.
Now i also tried them in the basement on my second system, and there was no change that i could hear at all. So each room will be different. The dealer i bought them from was surprised with that. lol

Bumping an older thread. Though I’d give an SR Orange fuse a shot. I’m currently trying one of these SR Oranges in my Rogue Rp9, comparing it to a Hifi Tuning Gold that I got on closeout. I do not remember what the stock fuse sounds like (plus my preamp has since been upgraded). Honestly, the SR Orange sounds worse than the Hifi Tuning, with the Orange having some grain in the treble and what seems like a compressed soundstage. Yes, I tried it oriented both ways, and there was no difference. Gonna give the Orange more time, but my experience with "break in" is that if you don’t like it out of the box, then improvement won’t be enough. Just my observation.

I’m running two Synergistic Research Orange fuses in my system. One on my Naim Supernait 3 and on my Teddy Pardo TeddyCap SE power supply. I’m in agreement with oregonpapa on almost every aspect. However when I did a comparison on the Supernait 3 fuse vs the Synergistic Research Orange I found the Naim has better quality bass and attack. The Naim is more robust in that arena. However the SR’s have exceeded my expectations. I’m also running a Teddy Pardo power cable on the TeddyCap SE. It is terminated with Furutech FI-50 Rhodium plugs. It’s highly resolving ;^)
I do have the ability to upgrade my Naim nDAC and the Teddy Pardo XPS power supply as well however the nDAC/Pardo XPS combo sounds excellent as is. I also have a Teddy Pardo power cable on the Teddy XPS.

I have gone from SR Black to Orange to Purple on my amp.
SR Red to Orange to Purple on my Dac.
Gave them 250-300 hours running in each time.

I haven't had my system up for 10 months, and have made many changes in that time.
When I get it up and running next month, the differences will not only be in the fuses...
(Dac, streamer, ethernet, network switches, power treatments, grounding box etc).

I have a friend who has a masterful system.
He offered advice regarding DC fuses for linear power supplies. His findings, from a range of SR fuses red/blue/orange/purple is that the best fuses he found for LPS were HiFi Tuning Supreme. I bought AMR Gold due to available funds at the time, but will end up with HiFi Tuning Supreme fuses for my three LPS'.

Yesterday I ordered two Synergistic Research Purple fuses from Chris at VH Audio along with two Furutech plugs to reterminate a power cable. I’m looking forward to comparing the two fuses. If the Purples don’t deliver I may dig deeper into alternatives.

Arriving late to the discussion! My dealer suggested trying the new SR purple fuses in my preamp. If they are worth it, $200 isn't too bad for a tweak. But has anyone had to remove them or had trouble after installing them? what is the longest period any of you have had the same replacement fuses installed for in your equipment?

Hello Steve - I have easy access to my fuses on my Naim and Teddy Pardo gear. They have a small drawer next to the IEC inlet. Other components has different access points. Mine were very easy. I've had two Purples in my system for close to a year and they are still at peak performance.

Hello Nutty, thanks for the response. I worry about interfering with the original equipment. I recently purchased A Mac C53, so would hate it to "affect" warranty, etc. With the Mac I would have to remove the chassis, donmt want to do that. My dealer said he would do it. If it's worth it, I would try it, otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the sound and performance.
