Melbguy1, thank you for the reply. I think I'm going to try the outlet. I only need one in my system so I won't be too expensive. I will go for the -R version as well and report back my impressions as compared to the R1.
Hi there Keith.I think I have made a gain with the furutech 20 amp iec on the amp.I'll know tomorrow for sure.I just started the stereo this afternoon. It wasn't hard changing out the 15amp,it did have a fuse in it,which the 20 amp hasnt got.I screwed the wires in yesterday and retightened them today,,which it does need,IMO.I have a voodoo wall plug here,I mite put that on, till the gtx arrives, just to know.It probably wouldn't hurt to have a gold and a rhodium wall plug, what do you think ? One component just mite sound better on the gold.Just a thought.
Bob, I'm not sure if there is a market for used state of the art recepicles?, I was considering doing the same, get a gold and a rhodium, chris reffered both me and melbguy1 to get the gold on our warm sounding solid state, I do remeber talking to chris, he did say the difference was very subtle, but noticable, all I know is what chris at vh-audio and the furutech site says gold on solid state, Rhodium on tube equipment, would be nice if you got both and sharred your impressions before I buy mine, so I can conclude my decision on what to buy, do you know melbguy1, he lives on the other side of australia from you?, cheers.
I'm happy with the rhodium on the amp.I've removed one adapter there, now to get rid of the adapters on the wall.If I have a gold and a rhodium gtx, that gives me options.I will take them with me when I know where I'm going to finally set up my system.Keith I can't see me buying the omega gold speaker cables,I wish I could, but even at 10k,its still a lot of coin.I may go stealth there,at under half the price.Xmas is not far away, saving for the rest of the year now.No I don't know melguy1,well I don't think so.
Hi there, just fired up the stereo, the furutech rhodium iec,is a big improvement on my system, compared to the standard iec.I wouldn't have thought there would be much in it.Im glad I didn't go for the gold there, thats just for me.Your system could be different,as the stealth are a warmish pc.Im expecting another big improvement when I change the wall outlets.Way more transparency and the good stuff
One of these days I am going to open up my gear and change the IEC connectors. Its been something on my list for a while but like an true audiophile I never keep any component long enough to get around to making the change! :)
Side_kicki, what do you need to know about the Tara Labs 0.3?, There is two version's that's made now, The extended band width version that comes with the hfx ground station, and the controlled band width version, that is the ISM on board., I can answer all questions you may have, cheers.
Thanks melguy1, thats good to know..Ill order them tonight.Im thinking the gold mite be good for the digital.I may look at changing the cd player iec in the future..I bet thats a $1 iec
Chris Vanhause there at vh-audio has an option to put the Furutech GTX recepticles on a cooker that saves alot of burn-in time, as a matter of fact, he keeps some already cooked in stock on the shelfs, that way, no one has to waite a few days for them to cook on his cooker, that is the option I'm taking when I order one, I will need two, I will order the second one latter.
Hi Keith,I would go with what Chris recommends,he is the expert. At this stage I've just ordered the r.I'll take just one step at a time,I didn't realize, the inner and outer are extra,no problem though.
yeah melbguy1 and misternice, Likly I best do what chris says and do the Furutech GTX-D Gold, It appears David, you are going to go with the Gold, Thanks for the furutech disclosure for me david, I did not know I was beginning to sound like I work for vh-audio, mmmm, people must think I work for tara labs, Major disclosure!, I audiolabyrinth do not work for Tara Labs In any way, form, or fashion, Bob, when you said you are getting the Rhodium, Is that a GTX-D recepticle you are talking about?, and what do you mean the inner and outer?, cheers melbguy1 and misternice.
Melbguy1, man, you will not believe what I did today?, I last did this stint in the late 90s, However, after talking to Devon Scott there at Tara labs today, I subscribed to stereophile and The absolute sound audio mags, LOL!, As it turns out, Stereophile will be having a review in september, likly october, november, of the cables I am working toward, The Tara Labs Zero Evolution Interconnect, The Omega Evolution speaker cables, I do not know if you are aware of, I did acomplish getting the Tara Labs Zero Gold interconnect and Omega Gold speaker cables, This may not mean much to anyone, what I have is the best cables I have ever heard in my life!, neitherless, I will keep what I have and acquire the new model cable, and then, as far as cables, I will ride off into the sunset!, currious, I would like to know all that you have to say about the new Jorma cables, I have been told by many that they are some of the state of the art cables out there, cheers.
Melbguy1, almost forgot, I also got a used Tara Labs Cobalt 3ft with oyaide Tara factory terminated power cord, I am happy with it, got a great deal on it here on audiogon a year ago for $1,000.00, can't beat that, since a new one like mine for 6ft is $5,450.00, it's on my digital, although it is made for pre-amps and power amps, it was the only option I had to use it, Happy listening.
Tara Labs has come out with three more new power cords, The Cobalt Refferance, The Evolution Omega, and The Evolution Grandmaster power cords that have not made it to the Tara labs site yet, However, anyone can call Tara labs and ask about them, they are selling them now.
misternice, have you read the info on the furutech GTX-D gold and rhodium?, All GTX recepticles are pure copper, and then plated with 24 carrot gold or Rhodium platting, Thankyou Bob, I will keep that in mind if I do not like the GTX-D Gold, never know, I am hoping I like what it does, did you get your last stealth power cord yet?
Oh,i read it wrong,i thought there was a third product.Ill order it before the 25th,chris has gone away till then.Ill put the voodoo ig 8300 on and see how that goes today.Thats 95 percent copper apparently.Yes the v12 arrived.I will have to try another pc on the cd player,im currently using a ps audio ac12,its ok.A revelation audio labs precpt 2 mite be the go.$650 new free WW delivery.
Misternice, The stealth v12 did not work to satiesfaction on your cd-player?, I never heard of the brand Revelation Audio Labs Precpt 2 power cord, you may consider telling me info on that and bring me up to date,$650.00 with free ww wide delivery is really good, cheers.
The v12 would probably work quite well on the CD player.I'm starting to wind down my spending on the stereo.Rebel721 had it on his player,so it must be pretty good.If it doesn't work for me there,it apparently works good on the phonostage.
Melbguy1, Thankyou for all the replies, was you going to do a new thread on the Jorma statement cable review?, you are welcome to do it here as well, or both, so you orderd just one recepticle with one connection for one chord?, I only need a total of two of the recepticles with two outlets on each one myself, to tell you the truth, I have never been a fan of connecting more than one componet to an outlet to the begin with, I tried that with the dedicated amp line, that was funny, it seemed like the amp sucked all the power from the cd-player that it needed to sound it's best, so yeah, I understand and agree, one componet per recepticle, cheers.
misternice, I look forward to what all that you say about where, and your impressions of the sound of your stealth v-12 power cords here, correct me if I am wrong, is'nt the v-12 power cords the new top model power cord from stealth?, Happy Listening.
Hi,Beck morning phase,is my reference CD.If it sounds slow,I've changed out a power cord.Plus its a good recording.Keith, its hard to explain the v12,its good right across the board, its got a sweetness, about them, good detail, bass ,mids and nice and clear, musical you could say. There would be better and worse out there.I'm happy with them, and have no plans of changing them. The voodoo wall recepticle,is pretty good,a big improvementon on a standard wall recepticle.
Misternice, I would be very careful of such deals as the one you specified of the Tara Zero Gold, I say this because Tara labs is well known to have chineese countefiet cables out there world wide!, also, I will tell you, I have never seen an authentic Tara labs With the HFX grounding station for no less than $7,000.00 u.s.d. for one meter on the used market ever!, there was a few different zero interconnects over the last 17 years, The best version is with the HFX grounding station, and the serial number will tell you if it is beyound 5 years old, they made changes inside the cable for improvements to work it's Best with the HFX station, the old version says, zero on the grounding station, that was the second type of station over the years, the first original station said, Tara labs on the station, The HFX version has two times the cerelex compound inside as all the others, and it has componet ground as well, the others do NOT, Hope this helps, cheers.
Melbguy1, just let me know when you do the review, and I like to read it, anyway, you can talk about equipment all you want here, but maybe you might be right about a very long review here on this thread, would be nice for you to jot a few sentences about anything audio, It would be for my benefit to learn about the audio you have that I have no exsperience with, I'm sure other readers may chime in as well too,Thankyou for the reply, cheers
Melbguy1, I have some good news, Matt there on the dac shoot out is looking to buy a used Romulas, He E-mailed me, I would contact him If I were you, this could be a sale for your unit, good luck Melbguy1, I was looking out for you and told him of your unit, cheers.
