Springsteen. Only the Strong Survive

Just took this CD out of my local library for a listen. I hope it introduced folks to this music but please go seek out the originals which are much better. My buddies who have heard it and also grew up during the originals feel the same. I'm curious what others think

I recommend also watching the video of Do I Love You - great band and back up singers. Apparently this song was never released commercially and somehow Bruce dug it up and did it justice.

I think it’s a decent album and I enjoy Bruce’s voice very much. Hearing his renditions made me want to relisten to all those originals, that I knew so well

If I had to agree with an artists' politics to enjoy their craft there would be a lot less music played in my home and also a lot less vidio/movies/tv watched. WTS, it seems all artist visit soul and R&B at some point later in their career and being a big fan of Springsteen early work I will take a listen, good to see he got Sam Moore on board for help with this one. Enjoy the music

It is nice to hear Bruce not singing in his Woody Guthrie voice and the album is recorded very well. The songs don't have the soul of the originals, of course, but that's not a reason for him not to have a go at these songs he loves, and if it helps turn some of Bruce's younger fans on to 60s soul, that's a good thing.  So, overall, Bruce gets a thumbs up from me.

I think that I respect Bruce but I haven't heard anything since Born To Run that sounds any different. Not for me please.
