@willgolf - I think you hit the nail on the head - "they were packed so well". It really all comes down to the packing. You just have to assume that every shipper is not going to treat every item with kid gloves. I had a big pair of Tannoys almost damaged when a forklift operator rammed the speakers while they were in a custom made crate. If the packing in the crate wasn't at least 6 inches thick, I would have had a big whole in one of the speakers. If I was going to buy heavy speakers or ship heavy speakers, I would only do so if they were going to bein a crate with extra heavy duty packing.
Shipping Set of Speakers across country
I am considering purchasing a set of high end speakers but my issue is that they are located 1600 miles away from me. The dimensions are 52"x 22"x 14", each speaker, they weigh 150lbs each. How do I have them shipped to me so they arrive complete and not damaged?
Has anyone used a freight company with good results?
Any advice is appreciated.
