SACD iso and DSD noise when stopping or closing music player

I've had this issue with two DACS and ASIO playback of DSD files (SMSL SU-9 and my current Gustard x26 Pro). When I stop playback or close Jriver/Foobar, I get a pretty loud indescribable noise out of both of my speakers. I have to turn off the DAC to stop it. I can resolve this by sending DSD via DOP, but I would like to think there is a solution to this issue. I've tried different USB cables, PCIE cards, etc. and nothing clears this up. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have no idea about your path because you are talking a language I don’t understand. It looks like you are feeding your amp directly from your DAC. The amp goes on last and off first. And whatever is feeding your amp should be set at zero volume on turn off and turn on.

DSD Native makes similar noise intertrack via direct play on a Topping M50. Maybe it’s a a Shenzehn thing as it does not occur in my US DAC. DoP does indeed bypass it. I can't really hear a difference after cursory comparison.

The manic side of me want to figure these things out, but I should probably just move on with this one unless someone else has an suggestion.

Just in case make sure you download the drivers from the DAC website, don't use generic Windows drivers.

@tempest714 ,

I am a big fan of Foobar and upscaling everything PCM to DSD, including Internet Radio and Spotify. Check the following link to make sure you have configured F2K properly.

DSD in Foobar

I tried my laptop direct instead of my home computer: same issue. I tried all the suggestions above and thank everyone for them. This appears to be something I can only get around use DSD/DOP. I'll get over it and move on.

I did find on another forum that this is an issue with other owners of this dac and similar dacs.  A firmware update and/or ASIO driver update may help.

Fwiw, I have the same problem when I switch from any other input on my DAC to the HDMI inputs

I am having the same problem using J River from my laptop using windows 10 to the Gustard x26 PRO. If there is a driver fix available please let me know! This is very frustrating, I am currently having to mute my preamp during stop of playback.

The only fix I have for J River is to select DOP in the prefs. It will send the DSD file in a PCM package (it does not convert it). The DAC will then unpack it and play the DSD file. There is a new ASIO driver on the Gustard site, but the link button does not work. I've emailed them and it will likely be fixed soon. Version 5.50

The new ASIO driver for all Gustard DACs is now available. They are working on the website, and they are now posting firmware updates there.
