Replacing Virtual Dynamic speaker cables

I have been using the Revelation speaker cables for a few years and I do like them. They were very expensive new, but good value second hand. I found them to have nice detail, a little tipped up in the base, but very clean and well, dynamic.

So why do I want to change them? Well, they are so heavy and stiff, I find them a nightmare to connect and dress. There is'nt much room behind my system. Very good for beating a burglar, mind you, not so good for day to day use.

I have no prejudices, any suggestions for a comparable quality cable, up to 2000 dollars used for 6 to 8ft, single wired, good detail, dynamic, but not edgy. Thanks

David, have you sold your VD speaker cables yet? I just bought a pair of genesis 5.3s along with matching center channel and I am looking for 3 individual runs of this exact cable. Did you find something else that you liked better yet? Please email me stevenfleisher@gmail.com.
Thanks for all the helpful advice guys. I did what I should have done in the first place and asked lou hinckley the guy who designs my speakers and he suggested a Wiwires cable, developed for the Daedalus speakers and those are on order at the moment
I purchased the Kaplan speaker cables about a year ago and for the price find them to be quite stunning. If memory serves they cost $1,600 for a 6 ft pair.
I would give The Taralabs The One a try,They are at the pricepoint used you are looking for, they are one of the few best in this price point, new 8ft$4,200.00,,very transparent for the money and a great sound signature to boot! happy listening!

I recommend the Master Built Purple Line. Not well known but outstanding cable made by Delphi Aerospace. It will trump much more expensive cables I have owned.
Schipo. my guess is that he's adult enough to make his own decision based on what he hears or doesn't.
Why not try anti cable by Paul speltz?...might save you quite a bit of money...:)
I just sold a pair of Analysis Plus Crystal Oval 8 speaker cables that reminded me of the Virtual Dynamics Revelations cables I used years ago. Both have very good tonality, bass and presented a soundstage that was too forward for my tastes.

I know many enjoy that clear, 'front row' perspective, but I prefer a more laid-back, relaxed presentation, hence the sale. If you liked Virtual Dynamics, I bet you would enjoy Analysis Plus cables.

I remember well how stiff those VD cables were......they snapped the Cardas binding post right off one of my Jeff Rowland Model 6 monoblocks!!!
Calloway

I am sure you will guide David with a cable recommendation? Right straight to the cleaners.
..Schipo...'and the word is Bass not Base'......hey Schipo...'and the word is' they're ...not 'there', as in, they're connected....
David12..you will love the new HF cables..give Rick an email.
Quite right about the "bass", the penalty of not checking properly before posting.

"Not so good for daily use", is what we call a figure of speech.

Back to the thread, thanks for the suggestion of High Fidelity Cables, Calloway.
Are there employment opportunities with the grammar police? I could use some extra income to spend on audio.
Schipo,
I agree with your correction regarding base as opposed to bass, but maybe he might correct you for using u instead of you. After all, this isn't a text message.

"not so good for day to day use"

What exactly do you do to your cables on a daily basis?

Yes, inquiring minds want to know.
Stroking them ......thats what is being done..and the word is BASS not BASE..what the heck do u do with your cables once there connected?

david...i would look no further then Rick Shultz's new High Fidelity line of cables..i did not have a chance to try his VD cables but have tried his CT-1..CT-1E and now have his CT-1U cables in my system. at your price point the CT-1 would be superb. they are not stiff and are just superb. look at the HF forum on the cable section and go to his website and read the reviews..you will NOT be unhappy..
