Refreshed Olympica Nova incoming?

Hi everyone

With the Olympica Nova launched in 2019, it's now six years old. Are there any plans for a new model soon - or any whispers about them being replaced? I've seen a few floor demos being cleared here and there so I wonder...

FWIW, I consider the SF Olympicas a high end product.  They really are wonderful speakers.  I don't have any particular insight on this but non-digital high end products tend to have life spans or cycles around 10 years or more.  Just my 2c.

More like cleared because of reduced sale rate. Not a shocking phenomenon tbh.

But yes the other reason could be in preparation for a new release @stephenwerner

My SF dealer says there is something in the works. He got an email today about the new Amati Supreme.

SF is having slowing sales after their price hike. My bet is there is a "refresh" coming- without any discounts.

Olympica speaker are great speakers. I used to own them and have heard upgrades between them and Nova. The speakers are as @rick_n said high end products and have long life cycles. I would consider picking up a pair of those discounted ones. New models are likely to cost a lot more. They are likely to be relatively small tweaks to sound better. It would be easy to get a six year old speaker and enjoy it for decades.

One thing to bear in mind, is Sonus Farber is now part of Bose. So I believe that Bose will employ trickle down technology, marketing, and profitability margins.
In the their purchase of SF they also acquired McIntosh and there have been upper mgmt changes made there already. I already own a set, but if you’re wanting to purchase the sound, dependability, and reputation, I’d buy off the shelf or the current product roster. Known is a wiser investment than what might be. All my opinion of course.wink
