Reference Tracks?

Hello,

I hope you can find a moment to share one, two, or three of your all-time favorite pieces that are truly excellent examples of a superb audiophile recording. Tracks that one repeatedly goes back to gauge the effectiveness of new components or tweaks to their system.

Thank you!

I have numerous . Here’s four ….

CHRIS BOTTI - Night Sessions : “Lisa”

DIRE STRAITS - Love Over Gold - “Love Over Gold” ( (title track)

Best Audiophile Voices II (XRCD)

1. Desperado - Emi Fujita

2. Fields of Gold - Eva Cassidy

I’m only going to list one and maybe someone will listen to it. It will appeal to a wide group of tastes. It's good.

Once Blue by the group October Project.

I had a hard time picking a best song from the album.

@akg_ca nice songs.  I would have several Dire Straits songs on my list.

I especially like Eva Cassidy. I hadn't heard it.

My favorite female track for imaging and simple voice purity....

Album..."Jacintha is her name"   Track... 'something cool'.

For overall dynamics and bass...

Album... "Touch YELLO"  Track... 'Kiss in Blue' both male and female voice purity OR 'Till tomorrow' featuring Till Bronner is spectacular with lots of micro details.

Enjoy

3 awesome guitarists, the last 2 tracks all 3 play, thus it is not just great music, also my final TT anti-skate adjustment aid.

you need the CD to know what the ’correct’ imaging is

then you play the LP version, refine the anti-skate so the imaging of the 3 guitarists matches the cd.

Mila Drumke, CD Hip to Hip,

Cassandra Wilson, Blue Light Til Dawn

Eurythmics, Sweet Dreams, or Greatest Hits

Blue Nile, Linn’s 1st LP

to enjoy music while focusing on your systems BASS capability, especially evaluate a cartridge’s quality of sound, this 3 lp collection (hopefully you like Jazz)

The Bass, 3 LP set

take CD version to listen to Richard Burton’s voice in audio stores

Duet, Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer also revealing in auditions in stores

OP

tell us your favorite music and artists, people here will know about things that fit your preferences

Blood Harmony, sibling’s voices, to appreciate your system and speakers subtleness

You might try:

Diana Krall, "Temptation"

Nils Lofgren, "Keith Don't Go" (on Acoustic Live)

Dominique Fils-Aime, "Birds"

I'm not sure if these are audiophile recordings, but they sound sweet!

Thanks to all!

I have no real favorite regarding the "type" of music I prefer. I like all well-recorded tracks. I like light rock, country, outstanding vocalists, jazz, and some classical. I particularly like Eva Cassidy.
