Raidho TD4.2

Do you own the Raidho TD4.2 ?  Have you spent time listening to this speaker?  I am considering buying this speaker.  Very pricey!  What do you think about this speaker's sound and performance?

I have spent time with the 3.2 and 3.8, not the 4.2 and I am a Raidho dealer.

The TD series is all about accuracy and massive images.  They are wonderfully detailed but not grainy of fatiguing.  Bass is tight and refined but not quite full range.  Very good if you want a deep and immersive soundstage and you want to get the most out of tremendous electronics.

The biggest challenges with these are room integration.  You want a medium to large room with a lot of space behind the speakers.  If you have 5' from the wall and 9-10' between the speakers with brilliant electronics, those will deliver a jaw-dropping listening experience.
Well, I do have plenty of listening room!  My room is 29’-10” long by 22’-9” wide by 11 ‘ high.

It’s a dedicated room so I have a lot of leeway on where I can position speakers and also where I can sit.  I like a BIG sound and that’s one reason why I’m using Magnepan 20.7’s.  But, they have to work really hard to attempt to fill the large space.  I’m not unhappy with the 20’s but I still like the idea of having a “final” dynamic box speaker.

I like the sound of the larger Raidho speakers and I will want to compare them to the new Borresen speakers.
Would that I could be in your league!  I was thrilled beyond belief being able to trade away my mint Dynaudio Sapphires (and Scansonic MB2.5s and Dynaudio Excite X-12s plus money) in late '16 to be able to receive a pair of used Raidho D2s. The will probably be my last speaker unless I come into lots of extra cash.
My D2s are set in a 20.6ft wide x 17 ft deep room. Ceiling 8ft high at left side and slopes up to 11.5ft at right side. Tweeters are at 49" out from wall and I'm in an 8ft equilateral triangle with a huge opening behind me for no rear reflections (and another opening to the right, rear as well).

With DSPeaker Anti-Mode 2.0 room bass correction I can achieve a flat response down to about 30Hz. That means the correction knocked off the silly hump the Raidho's had around 80-120Hz which is annoying.
But I do not get high dynamics with the D2s, generally 90s to mid90s for peaks, unless something excitable makes a woofer pop unexpectedly. And those dynamics are fine as it sure seems plenty loud (unless alcohol is involved, not often) with clean tight bass definition all the way down. I have a sub but rarely feel the need to turn it on.

For me, Michael B's implementation of that sealed ribbon tweeter is the single best thing about the speaker. As good as the Dynaudio Esotar II tweeter is to me, the D2 ribbon is superior (even the MB2.5 by Michael B is better sounding to me).

Since acquiring those speakers I have heard things on my CDs that the Dyn Sapphires did not articulate and it has been very revealing (bad pun) and thrilling at the same time. Right now I can only imagine (with money) moving to higher end Raidhos or the new Borresen speakers (both of which I understand to take the level of performance even higher.

Stickman, you're fortunate to be considering those and if you enjoy the Raidho sound they'll be fabulous I think. I have listened to pretty much all of the high end stuff (albeit at shows sometimes) and Rockport, TAD (by Andrew Jones), are some competitors in my mind but I've no desire to switch. Verdantaudio is correct; they'll be jawdropping as he said. And I can listen for hour upon hour with zero fatigue and rich loaded detailed sonically pure music!

Good luck to you and I am excited for where you are headed. Best!

Thanks for the info.  I am definitely going to listen to the TD4.2 and also the Borresen Z5.  There’s a great Borresen dealer near Chicago that has all of the new models.  I may fly up for an audition.   I haven’t found a Raidho dealer that has a pair of TD4.2’s on the floor.  Still looking.
I’ve never listened to the TD4.2 but I have spent time with the TD3.2, very nice and detailed speaker.  If you go the Raidho route, just don’t look at the resale prices, it will make you cry.
Indeed. Faster than bowling balls from a hot air balloon.

Not sure how long the original owner (I am #2) owned the D2s but 3-5 years at best. From a $48k list (in Walnut Burl) down to what I could afford with multiple mint trade-ins and cask ($17k list, used to me).

Totally advocate going used. People take good care of stuff like this, normally. (never thought I could own a

Is anyone know what Amplifier for Raidho 4.2 ?
