Question for Ayre EX-8 owners

I just ordered an EX-8 2.0, due to arrive in a week, and am shopping for speaker cables.

Can anybody tell me which speaker output on the back panel is for the L channel & which is for the R?  The answer to that question will make a $1000+ difference in the cable lengths I need.

The back panel isn't marked and the manuals don't give a clue.

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

So long as you’re consistent with the input, you could use either channel for left or right. If you use the speaker connector on the right, make sure the right channel input cables are connected directly below.

No. The manual doesn’t say, but on most gear, when viewed from the front (as if you were using it), the left is left, and the right is right. When looking at the rear panel the right side is the left output left and the side left is the right output. I personally don’t have any gear that differs from that. Regardless, your speaker cables should be of equal length, so I find your inquiry confusing.

This is correct. Ayre does not call it L and R on purpose.

Thanks for the quick & smart responses, everybody!

I can’t believe that this simple resolution didn’t occur to me! Duh!

I love this forum. I just saved $1000.
