QRP/AP The Doors remasters

Acoustic Sounds is currently taking pre-orders for the remasters of The Doors library of albums by Analogue Productions and pressed by QRP.

The question is:
Wasn't there a recent remastered box set that was beset by delays due to problems with master tapes? And weren't there digital fixes involved in that remaster project?

I think the answer is yes to the digital fixes made. We might not know which particular albums were affected by poor master tape quality. Not sure.

But then read the advertising hype at Acoustic Sounds for this new round of remasters by AP and pressed at QRP and the word 'digital' is no where to be seen. Only words like 'analog' and 'tube gear'. Supposedly Doug Sax and Bruce Botnick are involved.

Do I see some conflicting information here? Can anyone shed light on this? Are the new remasters from AP going to contain digitally altered source material?

Excellent thread ! I also saw that on the AS website.
I am very heavy on Doors Vinyl, just because I love The Doors. I have DCC's, 1st press Tan Labels.... I also steered clear of that last remastered set Td160 mentioned because of that word digital being associated with it. I have know idea if these releases will be all analog, but would certainly be on board if I find out they are. Gosh, it never ends !
It's sad that the music industry is so thin on new talent that they have to resort to endless reissues of material that most music lovers and collectors already have in spades. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, now the Doors-who's next?
I question the improvement in fidelity. Even the artists are surprised that their material is being remastered. I have to agree with Audiofeil that it's all about the money.
There is plenty of new "talent" in Rap. But then again, that is not music, just noise with obscene lyrics.

Agree that the industry is thin on new talent, and we do see more reissued material from bands like you mentioned.
As far as improvement in fidelity, I will just comment with regard to vinyl. As I said, I would like to check out at least one of these releases. Especially since they will be 45rpm. If Tan label 1st presses were a bit more common, I may be less excited about the prospect of an all analog 45 reissue. I have only found one nice quiet tan label of a Doors album, which is the first S/T one. If the new
45's end up to be better than my Red or green Butterfly label second/third pressings, they will be worth it for me.
