PurePower+ 1500 and PurePower+ 2000 are both in stock and shipping in 48 hours from order. PurePower+ 3000 stocks are sold out but will be available early September.
We have been delivering Plus models in North America since the first shipments in September 2012. They were in short supply until recently when we increased production capacity and cleared our order backlog.

Cant talk for someone else, but 2000 plus looks like 2000+ to me.... |
Plus is written out plainly 240690 |
2000 OR 2000+,...your response says 2000 which is the older unit that I already own |
I am a dealer for PP and received a PP 2000 plus 3 weeks ago . |
No word from PP on availability of a 2000+ or 3000+ unit without the problems discussed above for me or my dealer's unit that was expected some time ago. This is very disappointing needless to say.
Glory: Home Theater Guy is a good individual and you should consider picking up that 2000.... |
Had a PP 1200 and had a train wreck with it sending it back to Canada.
Maybe I will buy the 2000 off of Home theater guy. |
So after a weels time only one person has come forward with no issues with the new PP+ units. Oh well guess it's time to look elsewhere. Hope PP gets their act together. |
I wish I could believe PP also but too many have posted bad customer support and follow thru. |
Purepower: Add me to the list of non-plus PP unit owners who did and still do have no issue with hum or buzzing through the speakers in their high-end system with the prior generation of product. The problem only turned up when I replaced (within a 30 minute period to swap units)the 2000 with a 2000+. I experienced the problems, even with pre-amp set to 0 (no volume, 0-relative scale) the humming and buzzing could be heard across the room 10-12 ft away. I powered down the 2000+ unit, put the 2000 back in and it has remained since December of last year with the system sounding as great as ever.
Prior to the 2000+ arriving, I had my contractor go over my entire dedicated circuit as I was assessing putting in a copper breaker bar sub-panel or a 2nd house main for my system as well as the possibility of putting in a separate dedicated (isolation) transformer. My contractor as it happens built a recording studio for a very famous British Singer-Pianist (initials EJ) for his house in Atlanta so I'd venture a guess that he knows a fair amount about what we are talking about here (high-end audio systems). He tested and went over everything pronouncing a clean bill of health.
Following the arrival and near-immediate departure of the 2000+, I paid another electrician who has a reputation in the area for putting in electrical circuits and wiring for complex Home Theater, 2-channel and 2 recording studio setups from the NC/SC area to put in 5 Avatar Acoustics Afterburner8 outlets and inspect all aspects of my dedicated circuit as well as the grounding scheme for the entire house and dedicated circuit. Again, the result was the same...a clean bill of health from a certified electrician with experience putting in and trouble-shooting complex audio and video setups.
I am mystified by the claim that these problems were not the fault or at least related to something in the 2000+ unit as it is very clear in my experience what happened;
- setup with dedicated circuit inspected/blessed by two audio-knowledgable electricians about 10 months apart - PP 2000 in this system for well over 2 years does not have issue - insert PP 2000+ in place of 2000; issues arise - remove 2000+, replace with 2000 (no other changes); issues go away completely
PP: Take a look at my system and others; do you really think based upon the investment in question that I and others are just sitting there with systems that make all this noise already without the 2000+ in place and we are happy with it? You don't need to make a house call here,...the problem did not exist before your new unit went into the system and disappeared after your new unit was removed. PLEASE consider that there may be an issue here that your own electrician-style bench testing without a high-end system and dedicated room in your production facility would not uncover. If you do want to make a house call (I am serious), bring a 2000+ or 3000+ and I'll put it into my system and you can hear what i am talking about. After all this, I love my PP 2000 to such an extent that I am still hopeful that you will wake up and consider all this and produce a 2000+ or 3000+ unit that won't manifest this issue in my system so I can buy a new version of your product!!! |
What confuses me most is the account of Pure Power+ units that have hum, while for at least one owner there was no hum problem with a non-plus version of Pure Power regenerators. |
Purepower, I wish I could believe what you have recently posted. I was very serious about buying one of the units until I started reading this thread and actually many others on this site and other sites.
People were posting about the very poor communications they had with Purepower and that products received were dead on arrival or the battery wouldn't keep it's charge, etc. I volunteer to be a test subject to try one of your current models and then I will post my experience. |
Hum from speakers.
Since the introduction of the PurePower+ There have been 2 customers who suffered from hum that appeared in their speakers.
By definition, hum emanating from the speakers represents an unwanted signal that has entered the audio signal path through one of many possible routes. In the particular cases that the hum appeared after installing a PurePower+ unit we very strongly suspect the path is through a ground loop. We suspect ground faults because of our prior experience with similar symptoms over the years that were resolved by finding and eliminating ground problems.
We do know that there is no inherent electrical characteristic of the PurePower AC output capable of affecting the audio signal through the AC supply. Nonetheless we returned both units to our factory to be absolutely certain they were operating perfectly. They were.
We suspect we have not convinced these now former customers that with perseverance, the cause of the hum could have been found and eliminated through the right diagnostic method and signal tracing tools. Unfortunately we could not resolve the issue and they are now operating without the benefit of our product. I think it is fair to say that both expressed a clear wish that they could enjoy the PurePower benefits – hum free. Thus, they are hoping we will be able to modify our product in some way to solve the problem.
For our part, we wish we had the time and resources to make house calls and help them install our product and find and remove the real hum source.
So our answer has to be no – we are not working on fixes for hum by changing the PurePower electronics because we are absolutely certain PurePower technology does not, and can not, cause hum. |
I received my Pure Power units back in the summer of 2012 (the second one may have been in the fall). I have posted before on this thread, if anyone wishes to read about my experience. The bottom line, though, is that I have had no hum issues; and I would not want to live without the PP+ units. |
Lets hear from just a few of those 100 PP+ customers that received units recently (according to PPs post above) and tell us about your satisfaction with promised shipping details, working as designed units and anything else. |
Purepower, the name is ozzy not oxxy. Something doesn't sound right from your new postings and the long long string of negative comments on your products and service. I would think you would fix all of the defective units BEFORE you sell any new units. That would show us how determined you are to be a viable company. |
I tried a Purepower 2000+ unit in December 2012 after the demarcation (time)line in your posting above which stated you had fixed all defects. It was a newly finished unit at the time and the system hum problem (and buzzing through the speakers) in my system caused me to ship the unit back to you so I would suggest that you are not 'complete' on the + units until you remove the hum and buzzing effect that occurs when you put these units into high-end systems that are stable and do not have these issues. Furthermore, I already utilize a 2000 (non +) unit in this system for the last 2 years and do not
I look forward to you answering 1 and 2 on another thread as I'd love to test a unit that does not manifest the humming and buzzing in my system so that I can upgrade from my 2000 to a quality and completed 2000+. |
Yes, Zephyr, PurePower+ is market ready. We are posting here because of the obvious need to answer all the questions posted on this forum. You seem to be asking three main questions. 1. Are we fixing the hum problems? 2. When will we deliver on all promises of replacement units? 3. When will the PurePower+ reliability and performance be better than the previous generation PurePower units?
Let me answer the last question first. The new PurePower+ product is head and shoulders above the Taiwan built product in sonic performance, electrical specs, reliability, fit and finish, quality control, packaging, customer service turnaround and every other attribute you care to name. The plus units have corrected every deficiency of the old design, and have introduced no new ones. If you have been waiting to try a new Plus unit because you were waiting until it had been perfected, we have passed that point months ago. The product we are shipping today has no known deficiencies and the highest reliability ever.
This is not just hype - we really have no reason to believe there is anything in our current product that needs fixing.
I will answer questions 1 and 2 in separate postings. |
Wow so all these guys whom reported these hum issues don't know what they are talking about? I find that hard to beleive since a number of them seem well versed in this hobby. Also have seen not one person respond positively to owning a newer plus unit, also seems strange. |
Oxxy, I can report that the currently shipping PurePower+ product - all models - have no reported bugs at all. None. Zip. Nada.
The last and only "bug" in our electronics since the launch of production in September was corrected in December by the relatively simple mechanical revision of increasing the surface area of a heat sink on a secondary PCB to improve cooling and prevent potential overheating of the battery charge board. The only other revision we have made since September is to increase the heat sink size of another PCB in the 3000 model to allow us to delete a secondary cooling fan from the design.
All other activity has been to find and prevent sources of shipping damage. Fortunately we have a very co-operate test partner in UPS who have provided very effective shake and drop testing. That program has also resulted in success and we now see almost no incidents of units arriving with loose components or physical damage.
We have no active engineering activity aimed at resolving operating problems because we have none. All our resources in that area are able to be used for future product development.
Of the last 100 units shipped all are operating properly except for a few units temporarily out of service to undergo the heat sink upgrade at distributor service depots in Asia and Europe. As for our own customer service we have only 2 units currently in warranty service - and one of those was damaged inadvertently by the customer. He is not being charged for the repair. |
Purepower: Over the past 10-12 months, we've heard all the background on how challenging it's been, the fight with members of your old company after the fracture, how it's taken time to setup your production facilities, challenges with shipping, reset and further broken promises on shipping to users and dealers (mine included).
Your response above completely skips over all the substantive feedback and implicit questions from several people with different system configs who have all experienced the same thing, i.e. hum out of speakers and/or amplifiers, etc...when putting a new PP 2000+ or 3000+ unit into the system but we've not heard one thing from PP in response that states you are working on the issue (reported 4-5 months ago at a minimum) and have a path toward resolution.
I for one understand if you don't come right out and state specifics on a public forum but you could at least answer and update replies that are laying fallow in at least 2 cases I know personally, in your Inbox, for the last 3-4 months.
Quality of service in shipping, etc...matters not when what arrives is not usable in high-end audio systems and must be shipped back.
Please address the problems with the 2000+ and 3000+ so that customers who have been loyal in the past and continue to be hopeful you will get past what seem like part choice, design and/or build issues that are causing the hum problems and put out units that can be purchased which hold up to the same quality of build and sound criteria as the prior generation of 2000 and 3000 products. If you do not, I think it is obvious you will forever lose customers starting with this one. |
The hum issue is much more disconcerting than the shipping.
Neither are good signs, and they certainly don't inspire condfidence. |
PP if all these customers that get a hum when the new PP+ is used and none of use ever had these issues before with many other conditioners (and I myself spent weeks and weeks trying all sorts of grounding schemes to eliminate the hum) and none of us had any luck then I thinks it's safe to say there is something wrong with these units. You can spin this anyway you want but......
(Dealer disclaimer) |
Purepower, It still seems that you have not worked the bugs out of the new units that you continue to sell. |
I would be happy to answer your question about shipping. Just email me and I can tell you delivery schedules on specific orders.
We began manufacturing the PurePower+ product line in September after a 6 month beta program. As we discovered it is no mean feat to design a brand new product release, build a new production facility, set up a complex supply chain and make certain the product meets all your expectations. We think we have accomplished all of that, and our reliability experience is dramatically better than our past outsourced product. The one thing we have not yet accomplished is to build them fast enough to meet demand. Nevertheless we do not currently have long lead times on delivery and production is steady and steadily increasing.
PurePower+ models are being hand built in our Canadian plant and we have absolutely no plans to outsource our production to Taiwan in order to speed production. We learned that lesson the hard way. |
Mlary ~ too bad after all this time a unit gets shipped that has the same problem as others have reported here. Seems like there is no resolution. |
My dealer is still waiting for a new PP 3000+ or 2000+ unit to arrive that he and I can both audition. There have been no responses as of late to requests for status. I am hopeful that this will change, the problem will resolve and a unit that does not produce hum or any other kind of noise in the system will arrive soon. |
I recently got my PP+3000 units. Took 4 months to arrive. After charging the battery i hooked it up and sure enough my Ampzilla 2000 monobloc amps hum very loud. No hum thru the speakers, just out of the amps. Have contacted PP and they had me run a number of experiments (removing interconnects, speaker wires, etc)and they promised to work on fixing the problem. But after all of the broken promises experienced in the past 4 months, and hearing the disapointment of others using this product, i'm not going to hold my breath. |
After over 3 months and PP could not figure out the noise issue I gave up and sold my PP2000+ unit. I wish PP all the luck to solve the issues. |
I am holding fast with my 2 year old 2000 as I have not received any new info from PP as to a revised 2000+ or 3000+ due out to my dealer that removes the hum and buzzing problem I heard in the original demo unit several months ago. I am hopeful they will follow-up and take care of business so I can try a unit that is whisper quiet and I can complete my upgrade... |
I'm a former PurePower dealer who got caught in the middle of the dispute between the Canadians and their OEM in Taiwan. This is an object lesson on how NOT to manage your brand. Just hoping to sell my last remaining unit of PurePower 2000 (which is listed on Audiogon) at dealer cost and then be done with both firms! |
I am extremely happy with my PP 2000 for the last 2+ years; some manufacturers do go through tough times. The measure is how they handle them and recover. If they can figure this out and get + units out that work as well as the prior generation for everyone regardless of a system being all-analog, all-digital, etc...people will see this. I'll hold out for a 2000+ that works well for me as I'd like to see that upgrade in my system occur sometime this year; the sooner the better of course :-) |
And as these stories about PP continue to accumulate, the potential sales and resale price of these units will just go down, down, down. |
All it would take for a purchase of a PP 2000+ or 3000+ unit to occur is for PP to respond and provide a unit that they've made improvements to the design of and that does not have the buzzing and humming emanating from the speakers of the otherwise perfectly functioning system (before introduction of 2000+) that the 2000+ was inserted into. At this point, it's been several weeks and I've received no update so I am hopeful that I'll hear something worthy of action soon... |
I am sorry to hear you did not get timely responses, Sksos1. As people may know, this was a major problem for me - for a long time. It is very, very sad, as I like the Pure Power people; and the units I have are far superior to anything else I have ever tried. I feel very grateful that mine work fine and help me enjoy music (and video) so much. |
Just an update...after not receiving timely responses from PP I did sell my unit, wish I could have figured the hum out but like Zephyr he too couldn't get the buzzing to stop. Maybe it isn't PP fault but there is no other explanation. My quest is on for another conditioner. |
The holidays and needed time off are likely injecting some time delay on Sksos and I getting resolution for our units. PP has been responsive and promises resolution as soon as possible... |
So what's happening with your unit sksos1? Curious minds want to know. |
Rdoc I've done extensive different grounding schemes for the analog and nothing has worked so currently using analog into a Purist Audio conditioner which goes into the PP and everything else into the PP2000+. |
I would buy it if I did not already have a PP2000 model. If the PP2000+ makes as much improvement to your system as the 2000 did in mine, I would look into the analog system grounding. I would not want to be without my PurePower. |
Rdoc I now have tried using a cheater plug with ground wire and attaching the ground wire to any part of the PP chassis does nothing (except cause more hum and a scratching sound) BUT when I touch the wire to another chassis (phono chassis or my Purist Conditioners chassis) the hum stops. There's something wrong with the PP grounding scheme. Again it's OK with didital so anyone want it for cheap $$? |
Zephyr agree! I know it's not my phono stage or turntable b/c using 2 different conditioners all is fine, plug digital into the PP 2000 + all is fine, plug either the TT or phono stage into the PP and you get a hum out of the speakers. Unplug the TT and or phono stage and plug them directly into the wall all is fine. PP to date has not come back with a solution. If you own just digital this will be a great unit, anyone want one at a good price? |
The problem sounds like it is inside the 2000+ unit and not inside any of our systems. I tend to take a very simple approach to things....system before new unit arrived had no issues for multiple years with no hum/buzzing/ground loop issues, and after the new unit was up and running the hum and buzzing problems manifested themselves; removing the new unit removes the problem. This sounds very straightforward to me and should not imply we need to run our system with 50 cent cheater plugs and/or other unnatural gymnastics while spending good money to do so on the units with the issues :-) |
You might try one of the cheater plugs with the ground wire and attach the ground wire to the PP chassis screws. The PP is such a great piece, it would be a shame to not be able to get around this. Hope this helps. |
Phono is not grounded separately. I've tried a cheater plug on the phono and still get the hum, I can plug the phono straight into a Purist Audio conditioner or the wall as is and the hum goes away. Plug the phono into the PP and get a loud hum. |
Is the phono amp grounded separately? Have you tried removing this ground? |
Man PurePower Canada can't catch a break. When was the last time I read a positive forum post on these folks? |
Received my unit back and working great BUT with analog I get a hum out of the speakers. Digital is dead quiet and plugging the phono stage into the wall all is fine. The PP guys are trying to figure out if there's some sort of ground loop problem. (Anyone want to buy a new 2000+ cheap if I can't get this to work with my analog?) |
I will be able to compare the 2000+ directly to the 2000 in my room as soon as the 2000+ I had to send back that produced the buzzing and humming has its design/build issue remedied or a new unit sent to me. I'm eager to have the 2000+ in my system given its improved power correction, separate battery unit, etc... |
I'm using a PAD 20th Anniversary cord but unfortunately since receiving my 2000+ back I get a hum thru the speakers when my analog is plugged into it so can not listen to the PP. PP is looking into why this is happening now but wasn't originally and does not happen with digital.
