I’m glad you brought up Dutch & Dutch. Heard them at AXPONA 2023. They had a sparsely furnished room. Not a good room set up. Terrible. I do not think that’s what they wanted. When I heard them,  I was blown away how well they sounded. Super impressed. The electronics dealt with the room  problems and corrected it. They let me Bluetooth from my phone. Played about 3 songs I was familiar with. I’m not in the market for active speakers but if I were, I’d buy them. It’s how they handled the room.

Listening to the music is the end goal that seems to be missing in this GAS scenery.

So, enjoy them. They're incredible speakers  @69zoso69

It is my dream, end-game active speakers.  I could not afford it now but, when I do, I want to consolidate all gears to just a capable all-in-one and D&D 8c for beautification.  Simplicity is beautiful.

I spent years swapping out components trying to find the best synergy of parts. It was fun but mostly a huge waste of time and money. No matter how many quality separates I paired together, it never seemed quite right. I bought my D&Ds on faith, having had zero experience with them in person. They sounded fantastic right out of the box. And after calibrating them to my room, it was pure bliss. When friends come over I don't have to say anything about my setup, I just invite them to sit and listen to a song or two they're familiar with and watch their jaws go slack. I don't even think about gear anymore.

@69zoso69 yup. I came from headphones so finding endgame was less of a needless venture as I homed in on what I wanted pretty easily.

I have a phenomenal setup that allows just musical enjoyment and bliss which means there's little motivation to even try and be curious about purchasing new stuff. I still go to shows though and involve myself in the scientific pursuits and learnings in this space as that excites me more
