Power Cords, Too thin

Just sliced open the power cord with my 100watt defy7 amp. Folks this cord is way too thin to power any amplifier. Each strand is composed of maybe 10 wires each hair thin. Totally impossible to properly power up a  massive amplifier. My cd player is 220 volts, again the same cheap cord that comes with 90% of any component you buy. 
My guess is labs buy these cheap 2 cent cords for profit margin.
I am in the middle of a  DIY project , working with purecopper terminals, and 10 gague copper stranded wire.

I may make 2 part video, part 1  showing all my upgrades, part 2 for actual musical performance. 
Anyway, you would do well to ck your power cords. for ideal power current to the unit.

The power cords to my 3 units, are all the same gague, I am guessing ~~~24 gague~~~, good for a  floor lamp, surely not for  a
high power stereo unit.
Its very possible its the cord sent  when i bought the amp, I also paid $250 for a DIY heavier power cord, but once i opened the sleeve, i found it to be 18 or 20 gague Home Depot wire. With feelings of being ripped, i threw it away. 
Also  the vid will include my DIY speaker wire upgarde. 
Folks ck your power cords. 
If it is that thin  black one that comes with almost eevery unit, trash it, build your own.
