I've heard Hornings several years back, very clean sounding but lacked bass definition and impact IMO.
Single driver speakers are pretty unique in their sound. That Pearl Acoustics speaker looks like a Mark Audio Pencil which I built a while ago. Putting a 6 or 8 inch full range in a great room or large room it's not going to do as well as if you have a smaller room. Also, I wouldn't compare a single driver to a standard speaker (The Horning or anything else), they're two different animals. |
Hi, I’ll start by mentioning that I carry Horning Hybrid loudspeakers (https://gestalt.audio) so please take what I write with the appropriate amount of salt.
Horning is quite special. No crossover, very efficient (happy with a few watts in average rooms), extraordinarily coherent, great bass. They make no compromises on the top or bottom. They’re complete in a way I find is rare. Attractive too, in my opinion.
I can’t speak to Pearl Acoustics but feel free to reach out if you have questions about Horning. |
