Kudos to Andy Kim at Needleclinic for a recent coil repair to my Transfiguration Proteus cartridge. Very quick with communication and he actually fixed and shipped it back in 2 days.
I had a competitor look at it first and was told it was hopeless. Just wanted to give analog lovers the heads up.

Andy is A #1. Soundsmith told me it was a 6 month wait to get my ZU/Denon DL103 retipped. Andy did it in a day! I shipped out USPS second day mail, received on a Wednesday, was ready Thursday, paid immediately via PayPal and received back on the Saturday. Please note, I am on the East coast and Andy is on the West Coast. The sound was better than when I got it brand new. |
Andy Kim has done great work on a couple Benz I sent him, with a very quick TAT. Since I live ~100 miles from him, once I sent him a Benz LPS on Tues and got it back on Friday, in perfect working order. Andy is my go to, and there really is no reason for me to use Soundsmith again. @stereo5 that is an impressive TAT. Andy is excellent. |
I was negotiating a price on a Damaged Proteus in the not too distant past. Prior to purchasing I offered the Vendor a Solution to investigate as a means to a repair. The Vendor went to VAS NY Inc and received back a Cart' they were enthralled with, believing it now better than the previous guise. I went without the Proteus, but did assist in making a little happiness. Win-Win 👍 |
