Our the special release CDs that offer you several bonus tracts

Is the sound quality on the special release as good as the regular release that does not have the bonus tracks? Does the bonus tracks make the rest of the CD more compressed?

A couple studio songs as bonus is ok. Japan cds offer the best sound. With a few exceptions.

I prefer the regular studio album.  As I know when it is over m

if the extra songs are worth the cost of a cd as I own most of what I like,

hell,.....I get sick of all the reissues for extra money, cash grab!

if they are worth it, I may consider a second cd purchase of the same album.

For music originally released on vinyl the running time is going to be less than can fit on a CD, by quite a lot unless it was a double album. Filling that extra space with a few live versions or tracks that didn't make it onto the original release could help sell the album a second time, though often they're only of curiosity value and end up being skipped after a few listens. It's not the extra tracks that mess up the recording quality but the choices made in making the master but that's a different discussion.

Bonus tracks do not affect sound quality. There is a finite limit to recording space but the CD standard has set that limit, you would have to lower the standard resolution to record more stuff and it would not meet the CD standard at that point.
