Oldhvymec???

Just noticed I haven't seen him post in a while.  Maybe that last McIntosh thread put him over the edge?  Or maybe his chickens got him?  Or, maybe I'm missing something?

I never post here and I been reading his "STUFF" for many years. I met him at a CES show. He had his coveralls on. CAT mechanic. He was walking around with a half a gallon of Gatorade, eating stress tabs. He pealed his coverall off and was soaking wet. I had to help him.. His arms were as big as my legs.. He said he was 58 years old. This was 9-10 years ago. You could see he was a mechanic all right.

I'm a mechanic not that kind.. He had two other guys with him. They said he was trying to work them to death.. He said "only 1/2 way to death, he needed them for one more day, he'd finish the job tomorrow". I couldn't stop laughing.. I think he was serious. I don't know if he was talking about the job, or the guys. They were in their 20s.

I send him mail every now and then.. He's a BIG Mac guy, vintage. I like Mcintosh too. I wish I had just a few of his pieces.

He'll wind up in Poland or Germany. You watch he's good at fixing that "STUFF" as he says.. Tanks with holes no problem..

Last time I saw him he had a tube in his chest. Tough old bird. Loves animals, too he had a little dog with him..  Funny, big old guy with this little dog. Terrier or something..

@helmholtzsoul ...+1 for the insight...it puts ohm in perspective, and more or less confirms my mental imagery of the 'pebkac' hisself. *L* ;)

I had an employer back in the Bay Area in '80s' that, sans the overalls and CAT callings shared some personality traits.

Cruised into a room with the weight of dwarf star alloy, but a soft center that was wonderful to experience.
Out of my league, but more fun than some.  That counts imho.
