Thank you @karl_desch I'm very much enjoying it! At some point I'll try out another cart or two.
New Custom Turntable
Good day to you all. I thought I would share some images of my new turntable. While I haven't been on this journey for very long, maybe three years, I've definitely plunged fully down the rabbit hole.
I really enjoy records and the tangible aspect of it all. And I've fallen in love with the fidelity of it! After testing out all kinds of components and cartridges, I decided that I really wanted to have a TT with two tonearms so I could easily test different cartridges.
I came across Audiowood somewhat by accident back in January. I started a conversation with Joel who is the artist and technician behind it all. He's located in New Orleans and as luck would have it, we were heading down there just a few weeks later to visit our youngest who was finishing up school there.
We met up with Joel so I could give him one of the tonearms and take a look at some of the burls we could choose from for the plinth. My wife and I immediately agreed that the redwood burl he showed us was the way to go.
A few weeks later, Joel shipped up the entire work of art! I couldn't believe how well he packed it all. We've been enjoying this beautiful looking and sounding work of art for a few weeks now and we couldn't be happier!
The tonearms are both Audiomods Series Six. One is a 9" and one is a 10.5". One cartridge is a vintage Koetsu Rosewood and the other is a Hana SL. Please feel free to reach out to Joel. He's a great guy and super easy to work with. As you can see from his site, he can build just about any kind of turntable for your fidelity and aesthetic needs.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

@roxy54 The three feet under the TT are ISO Acoustics so they should help as well with the dampening. |
Thank you @elrod It does sound really nice. A lot more adjustable than a Rega RB330 arm. |
Thank you @jond That stump is a big chunk of pine and it’s what the previous TT sat on. I’m still trying to figure out the permanent stand. Currently trying out a stand with a sandwich of MDO/rubber/cork/granite but my wife isn’t yet thrilled with that option. |
