I have used many but Wywires juice always make it back in my system - they are keepers. They are very flexible, I use them on Mcintosh 501's and Allnic 3000 phono amp. They are in your price range.
Need FLEXIBLE Power Cord .
I am in dire need of a power cord with flex for an sub. I have some good Shunyata, ZU, Audio Art and Acoustic Zen cord but only my ZU Mother has any flex and its length is needed for my amp .Only good place for GalloTR1 sub precludes a "stiffy " .
In 300-500 $ new or used range at most .
Does anyone know if cheapest Shunyata has any flex ?

This cable really blew me away and is very flexible. Its a custom made Furutech Cable with Rhodium/Copper Carbon Fiber Connectors. $500 for 1m and you can also home audition before you buy. https://www.tweekgeek.com/tweeked-out-furutech-fp-s022n-power-cable/ |
I like and would suggest this one, KLEI gPower2 AC power cable, or this one, KLEI gPower3 AC power cable |
I was going to suggest finding a Zu Mother, but- you’re already familiar with the gem. Personally, the only Zu product I like(tried a plethora too). I was lucky enough, some time back, to find one on a Canadian site, in a 5M length, out of which I could make the two I needed(that’s five of ’em in my rig). They’re worth every penny and difficult to find, nowadays. |
I have three flexible 6' power cords that are all very good that I'd be willing to let go. PM me if you are interested. 1) Emerald Physics One power cord. 2) Cerious Technologies Graphene Blue power cord. 3) Furutech PC Triple C Series FP-TCS21 with High-Quality Carbon Fiber Rhodium Plated US Supply Power Plug HIFI IEC Connector. Professionally made by Audio Archon. |
Funny how we all hear differently. I had Zu Varial ICs and Ibis SC/jumpers and like them very much. Then I tried a Mother II PC and it was horrible. One of the worst PC ever experienced. It's was dry and constricting even on a DAC. Sound got filtered out all in different frequencies and turning up the volume was no help. |

@kinghifi- Never had a Mother II. Of course, cables are one of those things that are highly component dependent, when it comes to compatibility. It’s also said that they(PCs in general) can take much longer than other cables, to, "burn in" and sound their best. What you’ve described kinda sounds like what I’ve experienced, when first installing new components. I attribute that to(mostly) dielectric absorption(my best guess). How much time did you give it(just out of curiosity)? |
One that isn't mentioned very much is Black Sands Cables out of Canada. Wonderful cables and they were wonderful to deal with. A friend and I did a shoot-out with his 5 to 6 thousand dollar power cables plus DIY and they fell short by what we heard, but at the now $600 cables from Black Sands for a 2 meter length were close. https://www.blacksandaudio.net/power-cords/violet-zi-mkii-carbon-edition-2m I have the Mark 1's. I can only imagine how these deliver the goods! |
Hello again, Schubert. I’d be making it up to claim a basis for recommending one over another. I have heard differences between ICs and speaker cable so I ain’t from the wire-is-wire school but not so sure I can hear differences between aftermarket cords. Not saying others can’t mind you, just that the earth didn’t move for me when I powered up with a new cord in place. The mix I’ve ended up with is based on opportunity, price, and length needed. Haven’t done any significant A/B testing with ’em. Just not that motivated about it, I guess. |

"Except everybody will tell you how the meal was, ....."? It’s been my experience that, "everybody" will not have the same reaction to my cooking. ie: Most appreciate the Habanero peppers and garlic that I use(heavily) in my Guacamole-type dip, and some don’t. BUT- you’re right("EVERYBODY" does have an opinion)! Everything that I do to my home system, is intended to bring it’s presentation closer to the myriad of attributes I’ve experienced over the decades, when attending live venues/events(the good ones), whether as a listener, performer or Sound Tech. Those that have heard my system, have appreciated what it presents, given their own extensive experiences with live music(mostly acoustic musicians). None have failed to recognize the effects of cable upgrades. It’s funny, but- the most dramatic occurs with my phono stage, when swapping from stock to Mother. One would have to be functionally deaf, to miss the differences in dynamics and tone colors, in that app. Happy listening! |
