Dumb blonde needs help with power cable matching to subwoofer
kkirk, If all of your power cables look like standard power cords it doesn't make a difference.  If they come in different thicknesses, strange looking plugs on the end and round or flat you probable have custom power cords.  If they are custom, i...
Wood racks and humidity
Not to hijack the thread but mijostyn, what would your opinion be on using clear redwood for a stereo rack? I have 4 -  2" x 12" x 7' of clear redwood I bought in 1976 that I was thinking of using. How would you cut it and glue it? Lo-boy with 2 ...

Does This 'Black Box' Exist, If So, What Is It?
Hey rooze,I’ve been looking at some of the servers/streamers out there for my next upgrade when I win the lottery and have run across the Baetis Audio line. This one might fit the bill. https://www.baetisaudio.com/product/baetis-audio-prodigy-x3/ ...
have you ever bought stereo without listening first
I bought the original Soliloquy 6.3 speakers in I think 2003 unheard. The square corner not rounded and silk dome tweeter. Every other piece of gear and cables has been replaced but the Soliloquy's remain. A good review. http://www.soundstagenetw...

Wow an old album that rocked your world
I will say Anthony Lloyd Webber and Andrew Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar original 2 disc LP is something that still brings shivers up my spine.  Especially "39 Lashes"
Wow an old album that rocked your world
Peter, Paul and Mary In Concert. The mics they are using and the grouping on the stage just takes me back to the 1960's.  What can I say.
What is the most FUN pair of speakers you've ever had and why?
For me it's the first speaker I ever bought without hearing it.  The Soliloquy 6.3 2003 model closeout with the square cut corners and silk dome tweeter.  This was the Phil Jones design.  Good review here.  https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Soliloquy...
Metal cabinet speakers
Through NEWAS, an audio club now gone I had the opportunity to hear the Sason Ltd. Granite speakers that Ridge Street Audio brought up with his Poemi cables for a meeting  we had.  The Positive Feedback article was written by the host of the m...
What’s the best SACD you’ve ever heard?
For me, Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia "Friday Night in San Francisco".  This was recorded live at the Warfield Theatre in 1980.  Just three guitar masters having a wonderful time on stage with fantastic acoustics!
How much do we at A'gon influence the industry?
I don't post much but this question intrigues me. I've been involved with sales and marketing in different industries for over 30 years and we took advantage of any sources we could to help our members to make a decision. Audiogon is important to ...
Can I use just half the biwire?
Rodman, understand your comment and knew it.  I was just trying to say it in layman's terms to give scott a better idea to build from.  Keep the biwires together.  You paid for all that wire.  Use it!
Can I use just half the biwire?
I’m just thinking off the top of my head and I use Purist shotgun biwire Museus cables but if you only connect it as a single run cable are you using only half of the wires capability? I’m thinking if you have a 12 gauge wire x 2 and you only conn...
Any Audiophiles Here Have Experience with Hearing Aids?
Motoman, I'm in the same boat you are, getting older is a learning experience.  Besides the answers you will get on your questions here on your thread also do a search of this forum for "hearing aids".  This has been a popular question of which th...
