Great! Enjoy your bargain speakers!
My time spent with Canton.
Live in utah. The brand of Canton are rare in these parts. Very seldom are they seen in a secondary market. My first was a very neglected pair of CT-2000. They were sitting in a dirty garage looking frightful. The owner had picked them up in a donation center. Tweeters mashed. But the quality of the cabinets was obvious. Paid a pittance then took em home. They were challenging to restore due to the lack of 1877 tweeters. Finished them. Blown away with the quality of sound they make. Ives enjoyed them.
A pair from the same series popped up this week. A CT-800. They are in mint condition with two healthy 1877 tweeters, $300 for the pair. I’ve cleaned them up, a coat of wax. I powered the pair with my Mitsubishi DA-C7 /DA-A15DC, streaming from Node2i. The image they convey makes the hair stand in end. With the equipment pairing, they come alive. Not the low end of the CT-2000, but it’s there, deep with considerable punch. The detail and texture is remarkable. All for $300. One 1877 tweeters sells for more than this on eBay.
I love the personality of the speakers I own. Zu, KEF, Polk, JBL, RBH Sound, so many others. Their interesting.
