Music Hall Maverick SACD Player repair

Any recommendations for a repair shop? I am in the Del-Mar-Va area willing to drive a fair bit, but don't mind shipping if there is a stand out shop.

The unit powers up, but the drawer doesn't move. The belt appears to be ok, but the mechanical bits do not spin. It seems more like a control/logic issue. I noticed the ribbon cable that goes to the laser head was not seated fully, and it didn't look great. That said it didn't look awful either. Reseating didn't help.

I had a similar issues with my Maverick which has been sitting in the closet for I don’t know how many years. There may be an option down here in AZ, but I’m not too confident. Regardless, this post gave me motivation to try and get this component fixed. I’ll keep you updated.

Wow. I had one of those years ago. It was a nice player. I believe it was made by Shanling, so maybe check for anyone who repairs Shanling.  You might also check with member @bigkidz, who does audio repair in NJ I believe.

As above, this particular player had many issues with no real parts/service in place after the sale. Music Hall could have built a better spinner. Keep me posted as you try to find a Repair shop.

Another +vote for consulting bigkidz here on the 'Gon.

Happy Listening!

You could call Digital Rehab in Slidell La. which was Wilson Audio a Audio Research dealer and repair center for many years in New Orleans.

I owned the Maverick 15 years ago it would let out a very loud noise out of nowhere and cause me to jump out of my seat to turn down as fast as possible so speakers are not blown.
