Modwright PH9.0 X power source modification

I also use a Russian Reflector rectifier. My power supply was modified soon after I purchased the phono preamp, so I can't comment on what it did for the sound. However, the Modwright sounds better and is quieter than either the Pass Labs or Parasound SS units I had in the past. Check with Modwright, they periodically have specials on rectifier modification.     

I have SWP 9.0 SE, came with Ruby rectifier tube, replaced it with Mullard NOS from late 50's, easily heard improvement. Me thinks I'd prefer tube rectification vs SS in the 9.0X. Tube rectification in general more 'natural' to my ears.

I installed Russian tubes-Reflector 6S45P-E / WE437 / 6C45P / EC8020  a few years ago & noticed, a sense of "authority" from the original tubes that Dan had installed.
