MC/SUT into Line Level
VPI Traveler, Dynavector 20x2L, Bobs Sky 20, E.A.T Glo Petite r very nicely balanced n my rig. The Rega would more than likely sub in just fine. Something like a Project Phono Box MM can fit the bill if budget is limited. Take a look at the Audio Envy cables also. I was hoping to just hook up the SUT directly to one of the line levels of the Doge 8 without having to purchase another component such as a phono preamp, especially that I just acquired the SUT and Doge 8. Is there such a thing as overloading the line stage by directly inserting the SUT without a phono preamp? or What potential problems may I encounter if I do so? Thank you in advance. |
If I understand your question correctly you will still need to add an external phono preamp stage to your line level input with the SUT. This may indeed give you the results you are looking for depending on the phono preamp you choose and its synergy with the rest of your set up. Worth a try if you have the money and space for another component. |
