Here is a prime example of "don't judge a book by its cover."This curious-looking device, properly placed and isolated from vibrations, makes (especially) the top end and mid range of reproduced music both smoother, and more refined.The Lotus conveys a very natural presence to voices and instruments.
If you are someone who regularly denigrates new approaches to sound improvement, go at it. Just admit that you can't hear what I am hearing, much less offer an informed opinion, if you have no personal experience with this device.

Who cares if the design looks like a polished art project from a third grader?All I care about is the sound, and feeling that the money I spend is creatinga more enjoyable listening experience.
I have the Synergistic Research ART system, a full complement of HFTs, and an FEQ Atmosphere.In addition, there are two excellent Schuman Resonators on shelves at the rear wall, and three business card-size SR devices on the front wall behind and in between the speakers.
With the Lotus placed on top of the FEQ (which sits midway between the listening chair and the speakers, in the center of the room), I hear a noticeable improvement in bringing the music "into the space." As if I am closer to experiencing the sound that was created when the music was recorded.
People who like to post here, demonstrating how little they know, and how they are privileged to make judgements without any experiential basis... let your arrows start flying. You can't touch me, and your words will never detract from what I am hearing.

That many "Tweaks" reminds me of the early 70's auto malaise caused by fuel shortages and stringent emission control legislation. Car magazines ran many ads from some questionable purveyors of fuel economy improvers. It got to where if you bought into a lot of them, you might have to start towing a fuel tank behind your car to collect all the surplus gas you were making. |
I twisted a small piece so that it made contact around the ridge that is just above the base of the Lotus. I am hearing slightly less extension in the higher frequencies. I like the smoother, more focused sound of high guitar notes and cymbals. Sometimes it takes a while to think of, and try, new combinations of tweaks. After just a few seconds, the failures can be readily apparent. I also revisit past changes I have made, recently removing HFTs that were probably mounted too close together. And I had been living with that sound for many months! For me, this is the real fun: to come up with “off the wall” combinations of products and treatments that create new, positive listening experiences. (Fortunately I only have one person to please.) |
@paradisecom Indefinite. @sgordon1 Let this be a learning experience. That is quite the d-l-o. Other than rattle it does absolutely nothing to improve sound quality. Expectation bias is a very powerful human instinct and it can fool us in any number of ways. When you expect your enemies to be powerful you become more powerful and survive the battle. Fortunately for this scam artist this instinct generalizes to hearing which is why enemies frequently scream at each other, or if you are civilized you have a marching band play while you kill each other. There is no positive aspect to this. Eventually you will realize it does nothing and you are minus $350 which could have been spent better in other ways. |
