looking for phono suggestions

I have a Rowland "Capri" with phono card. Looking to upgrade to a stand alone unit. Budget is up to $1500.This is the only one I have tried so I'm not sure how much better I can get for $1500.
System:
Vienna Baby Grand
Moscode 401HR
JRDG Capri
Rega P 3-24
Dynavector 10x5 cart

I suggest you leave Rowland alone for now and upgrade cartridge/table/arm. You have entry-level front end and mid-level preamp; the system is not well balanced.
Also, I am unfamiliar with your amp but would guess that if in the future you replace it with Rowland power amp that would be good. You have excellent speakers, and I know that they do sound very well with Rowlands. And good cables, of course.
I have owned several phono stages and also the Capri with phono. The phono in the Capri is top notch and quiet to boot. Why deal with the extra unit and cabling if you don't have too.
Thanks for the tips. Inna, I love the Moscode. As I said this is the only phono I have had.I bought the Rega a few months back to try analog and its been worth the hassle. If I upgrade the rig what are suggestions? My dealer will take it in as trade but Rega is his only tables. He thinks I need to go to P-7. What do ya'll think?
P3-24 to a P7 is a huge jump in sonics - I experienced an improvement going froma P5 to a P7 and even more improvement going form the P7 to the P9. Bottom line, trust your ears and not someone elses opinion.
@Catahul_bill - I agree with the previous suggestions that you stick with the excellent phono in the Capri (at least for now) and address your table, arm, and cartridge. If you go that route and intend to spend P7-plus money, I strongly recommend you consider the Well-Tempered Amadeus. The Amadeus is a phenomenal table, comes with an incredible tonearm, and completely outperforms the P7. I own and use several turntable rigs ranging in price from $750 to $18500 and my Amadeus is easily my 2nd best rig.

No doubt you will consider to think about the opinions/suggestions offered here, but in the end, like Miner42 said, you must trust your ears!

Good Luck!
The P7 is one SWEET table. I do agree that you could probably do better for the same amount of money, but if your dealer only sells Rega, the P7 will be an excellent choice.

I would also see if you could trade up to the Dynavector DV20X2H cartridge.
Hi Bill....get your Rega off of its rubber feet. Use Cardas Blocks or points. That alone is a great improvement. Get the arm rewired, and change to a dropped counterweight. This too will make you smile. Try my first suggestion and then see where you are. I wouldn't replace the Rowland...they make good stuff.
Well, you have probably 20 or so turntables to audition. Nottingham, Avid, Acoustic Signature, Clearaudio, Kuzma, VPI, Mitchell, better Regas etc. How far do you want to go and how quickly? Do you plan to upgrade every year or every five years? How important is vinyl to you?
