Loki vs new streamer and new DAC.

I have ATC SCM 40 speakers in a reflective, bright room, so I’ve been using a Loki to modulate and adjust the sound. Now I have new equipment and I unhooked the Loki, but I don’t have good enough ears to be able to tell if I should still be using it. I tried to get a streamer and a DAC that were a little warm. I got a SIM audio moon mind and a Denafrips Pontus2. Does anyone have a point of view that might be helpful to me here, besides simple experimentation, which I’ve tried.

Room treatments are really helpful in getting better sound out of any existing system. Are you able to do some? Some photos under system in your user ID would be really helpful for the group in order to help.

Well, I mean if you've unhooked the Loki and you can't tell a difference, I think that's your answer right there.

You can always stash it in the closet and play with it another time, after you get used to the new equipment in the room.

Thanks. I guess common sense does dictate that my concern is a bit neurotic. And no, there’s nothing more I can do in terms of room treatment because of various circumstances.

Then just get used to reaching about twentyfive percent of your systems potential :-)

@coralkong has a point ... hard to believe with all different recordings a difference in undiscernible.

Personally, I love the Loki ... I'd leave it

We are an atc dealer the 40s are not bright they are senitive to electronics

The room Itself create brightness. I’m happy with my system and I love my speakers.

MF A308 integrated. See original post for the rest.

Thanks for your feedback.
