KEF "Q"uestion

I am considering a pair of KEF C55 speakers listed on the local CL. I did some research and there appears to be a common issue with tweeter failure linked to the ferrofluid used to cool them (it can harden over time). The speakers are in pristine cosmetic condition, but that's all I know about them at this point. Anyone have any advice or recommendations on this speaker model?

Might suggest you take an amp with you to test the speakers. Either way for $100 that’s a good price to pay to learn how to replace the furrofluid. Use some good negotiating skills and the lesson will be even cheaper. Good luck and enjoy.

You are quite the sleuth, gkelly; I didn't mention the price, but you got it exactly right. I am taking a test disc with me that will test the frequency response of each speaker.
