Yes, given that the Jay's + Denafrips combo was previously being touted, the big question is how it compares to Denafrips.  Which Denafrips model is it closest to in price?

Word from my sources indicate that the Jay's Audio DAC is being upgraded with further modifications. Stay tuned...should be interesting. Alvin.....you out there? Care to chime in?

It would be great if this DAC ends up being very transparent and up punches well above it's weight. I'm still not 100% sold on the Terminator, and if I can avoid lusting over and saving up for the Rockna, that would be spectacular.

Jay's Audio DAC2 is just released. Its features packed with

So it s been awhile anyone have any feedback on the new Jay Audio Dac??

I will chime in here as well. I am looking to upgrade from a many years old EMM LABS dcc2 SE to a new dac that can handle higher bit rates. The problem is that if the DAC can handle oversampled but doesn’t sound good what’s the use. Any one have any direct comparison between emm labs of years ago and Jay’s of today?

The JA Dac2 may sound better doing DSD as it’s got Delta Sigma D/A converters, but my bets still on the Denafrips R2R ladder dac when doing RedBook PCM 16/44, 24/96 or DXD. It good marketing to cover all the bases

When a PCM file is played on a native DSD single-bit converter, the single-bit DAC chip has to convert the PCM to DSD in real-time. This is one of the major reasons people claim DSD sounds better than PCM, when in fact, it is just that the chip in most modern single-bit (Delta Sigma) DACs do a poor job of decoding RedBook PCM.
