Integrated Amp Phono Section

Downsizing my system and would like to buy a solid state or hybrid  integrated amplifier with an excellent phono stage.  Any recommendations?  Would prefer a minimum of 80 watts per channel or so... speakers will probably be either Alta Celesta FRM or Magico A1.  So far, have identified Esoteric, Luxman and Modwright as possibilities.  Budget is up to $9000 used.  Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

@teeshot It’s a bit over your price range, but there is a T+A PA 3100 HV integrated with phono stage option listed used on USAudioMart right now. I am a T+A dealer but have no affiliation with the seller of this unit. All I can tell you is that it is an endgame integrated amp that will perform over most separates in the marketplace. Highly recommended if you can swing the extra cost.

I’m also a big fan of Modwright and Luxman. They won’t perform as highly as the T+A, but they both make good integrated amplifiers. I would pair the integrated you choose based on the speakers you pair them with. Magico will be more dynamic and have a higher tonal balance compared to the Alta which will have richer tonal density and relaxed top end. I’d pair the Alta with the Modwright and the Magico with Luxman or Esoteric. The T+A integrated is versatile and will make the best out of both speakers.

I did own Modwright separates and the Alta Lelantos Floorstanders about five years ago. It was okay, but if I had to do it over I’d probably go with Magico and Luxman.

I've been enjoying my Rowland Continuum S2 integrated with the HP phono module. It replaced tube separates (preamp, mono amps, and phono stage). I love having just one box. You'll be able to drive any loudspeaker with this integrated amp.

There are four PA3100's for sale right now!  Will investigate this unit as I am unfamiliar with this brand...should have stopped in their room at Axpona.

Rowland is another brand I have read a lot about but not heard much.  I will research them as well.  This smaller system will go in my living room (losing dedicated listening room) so its looks are big plus.  Beautiful.

Definitely Luxman… the 590axii (albeit “only” 30 watts…) has an amazing phonostage. And regarding the power requirement… don’t stare yourself blind on the numbers… the 590 drove my Watt Puppy 8’s to volumes way beyond what I could tolerate

I have a Outlaw Audio RR2160 MKll that i am extremely happy with!  Got it 2 1/2 years ago.  Excellent phono stage with Analog Bass Control management.
