Help in Sarasota Florida…Will Pay for help in setting up my room and equipment…

Just moved into a new house and would like to hire someone to help me get my equipment set and my room dialed in.

Speakers are B&W 801 D4s, McIntosh amp and pre-amp.  Need a good streamer and a couple of subwoofers.

I love to listen to high end stuff but I’m not much of a tinkerer and not trained in how to set up a room.

My room is our living room and no room correction pieces will be allowed, unfortunately.

Happy to pay someone to help me get set up and the sound dialed in.

Anyone with relevant experience please respond!

Many thanks!

I vacationed in Sarasota a few months ago.  I saw a few vans from that company out and about.

I am a big fan of room correction.  If using digital sources it can cure a lot of ills.  Can’t do much for a hurricane flooding your listening room , though

I was thinking about Jim Smith at Get Better Sound

Looks like he can visit and setup your system - RoomPlay. He is specific to stereo setups, and his books were advertised online and many magazines.

Jim smith. He is very knowledgeable. Anybody else how do you know if they know how to do this. I’ve read Jim’s book, Paul McGowan book, visited and asked Cardas and also have info from the old Rives Audio room setup, so I do my own setup using the techniques from everything above.

When I moved to Florida, I had to give up my custom built room to move into a new house with a much smaller room, so I had to get smaller speakers which allowed me to get rid of some room treatments.

Try setting up things yourself starting with the rule of 1/3 or 1/5 and jim smiths rule on the separation of speakers compared to distance of speaker to listeners head.

I'm in S'sota/Bradenton area and would be willing to help.

I'm a fellow A'goner and would have some time free this coming weekend.

My system is B&W 802N, Krell monos, Holo Dac, Jay's Audio transport & more

Create this post on your local audiophile facebook group.

Mention "I need help" and don’t  mention "I will pay". Some local enthusiastic nerd will help you set it up for free.

You might consider joining our Suncoast Audiophile Society.  A third of our members are in the Sarasota area, and I'm sure some would be happy to help you dial in your system at no charge (other than perhaps a pizza and beer smiley).  FYI, we hold regular meetings throughout the Sarasota/Tampa Bay/Lakeland region.
