Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact. My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.
worldwidewholesales 47 posts 08-08-2016 11:03am Quick update on my 2 CPT 150 cords. I am now over 1000 hours on the break in process of these 2 cords and to be honest they did continue to improve past the 500 hour mark.
I believe you but is it really true you haven't done anything else to your system in all that time? That is difficult to believe since every audiophile and his brother can't seem to stop tweaking or upgrading or changing cables, that sort of thing. It's in their blood. :-)
Over the years I have
done several things that improved my system and these are the things that
actually really worked;
Anti vibration stand and
cones
Acoustic Revive RR-888
Acoustic Revive RCG-24 grounding
conditioner
Shorting plugs in my
integrated from Acoustic Revive
Lifting the speaker
cables off the floor
Separating the RCA
interconnects
Last but not least, CPT
power cords
I believe all these
pieces have lowered the noise floor without having any negative effects. I have
A/B over 300 different cable models including 91 power cords. I really enjoy
how live my system sounds with zero brightness. The system is very dynamic and
the micro detail is right there which allows the emotion of the artist to come
through on every song. I have tried removing some of the above pieces but
something gets lost when I take even one unit out of the system.
I think there comes a
point when a system gets real good and if you do make changes, be careful not
to screw it up, that is where I am at. Will I change something over a period of
time, sure but not this year.
Without any significant burn in, this cord(150) has proved to be magical for me/system. This is almost like a component upgrade. Having used cables 5 times expensive, none has had such a positive impact.
The "price to performance" ratio is off the charts.
@divinearun , your conclusions are spot on. You will notice even past 500 hours it still exceeds to higher levels. It's almost like "Thors Hammer" charging with lightning and getting stronger every time....
Wanted to add my voice to the choir and sing the praise of the CPT cables. Added a single 150 to my pre amp about 6 weeks ago and have now got to a point where I am really somewhat awe struck by what this single cable can do. Have been putting systems together for 35 + years and outside of speaker changes this is one of the most significant improvements I've ever gotten.
If you try one be patient in my system had some big time peeks and valleys in sound while breaking in. At about 350 hrs now and still hearing improvement. Definitely want to put one of the high power units on my amps.
I’m interested to try them, but confused about what version do I need and how to include in my system.
i have Ayre Codex (Dac) plus Schiit Mjolnir 2 (headamp). What version do I need to buy? Can I buy a higher version or it will damage the equipment? I primarily going to use it for this setup (no floor standing speakers)
currently I plug both units into emotiva cmx2 which is plugged into the wall.
so do I need to plug CPT into the wall and the other side into emotiva cmx2, or I need to get CPT for each unit?
You cannot hurt your equipment plugging them into a larger AC Balanced Power Source. By using something like a Wireworld Matrix 2 plugstrip you have 6 outlets at your disposal. You can use them - or not.
Happy to help you - feel free to e-mail or call...
@dmitrys; While Bacardi and Corepowertech gave you some great advice I personally would recommend the 300 plugged into some type of a power strip (or equivalent device) as Mark said "Wireworld Matrix 2 plugstrip you have 6 outlets at your disposal." I found that to be the best bang for the buck and the results were stunning.
On a side note Mark, I'm looking forward to the arrival of the 1800 ;-)!
These do NOT hum. Part of the reason it took us a year and 11 prototypes to finally get exactly what we wanted was all about the delivery of a system that was fully balanced and did not hum in any manner.
And just to add to this. I originally started with.just the 300 and Wireworld Matrix strip. Now connecting all my components (AMP, CDT and DAC) to wall receptacle with CPT's has made a greater impact. It really has transformed my system into something I look forward to hearing all the time. Its quite addictive. Thanks Mark again for making such an incredible product. I hope you have more stuff up your sleeve. :Hopefully not too soon as my budget for this year is tapped ...well maybe not lol :)
Initial Pricing is $1195 and $1595. These prices will (sadly) for sure go up near the end of October/early November. I have to raise them between 2 and 300 dollars. :(
@aniwolfe
I'm still smiling from your last e-mail. Thank You... :)
@lak
I STILL love that line - all of these years later.
We had shipments go to India, The Netherlands and New Zealand is Friday. Thanks to all of you for your kind words re the product and your encouragement.
I just had a shoot out between a CPT-300 power cord and high current GE blue power cord. The result as follow:
My setup:
Source: PC Dac: schiit yggdrasil amp+pre: audio-gd speaker: magico s1 all front end plugged into furutech ftp 615 into torus avr2 16A. all cable are GE ICs, blue power cord(no yellow/red)
the blue GE was break in for 100 hour the cpt 300 is brand new
first i replace the cpt 300 with the blueGE connecting my furutech(all front end plugged) and torus. the sound stage sink and compressed significantly. the sound is much thinner and less warm. the inustrusment separation and black ground got a little better. the details and dynamic got worse.
i try the cpt 300 into the wall socket thinking the torus may have affect it. the result still the same.
this shows that GE blue cable is better than blue/red CPT 300 needs to clarify their cable interaction when plugging in other power isolation transformer
Thank you for your notes here - please do continue to break in the E=C 300. I am interested in your further examination.
We have not specifically stated how folks should use our Balanced AC Power Source(s). Each situation can be (will be - perhaps) different.
There are many comments from me that IMHO our E=C units are thin and a bit hard just as new - but once past 50 hours of use they will get better - and after 150 hours of use they become much better still.
@knghifi
We will have 4 duplex's - therefore 8 total outlets.
Aftet reading a lot of chatter on audio forums about CPT, I decided to borrow CPT 300 from my dealer (Care Audio) and give it a try. I absolutely loved my Lumin A1's analog presentation and was unsure if my current sound could be bettered by adding a balanced power chord.
I have a dedicated 20Amp circuit with a Furtech-R (with plate and RF cover) running to a Wywire Platinum Power Broker. I connected my CPT 300 to Lumin A1 via the Wywires power broker (Lumin A1 feeding Allnic T1500 300B integrated to Bastani Speakers all connected via Wywires Platinum cables). My speakers are 100db efficient and very revealing.... I usually notice any changes in my system right away.
My first experience before break in was that there was a marked improvement in the midrange and instrument separation, however the treble was highly unsettling due the brightness that was introduced to my system. After 200+ hrs of break in, "wow" is the word. My systems musicial presentation was absolutely sublime. Sound was significantly better than my initial listening impression and the mid range and highs were absolutely spectacular. I switched back to my original power cord and within 2 minutes switched back to CPT (there is no going back....).
The results of this power chord on my Lumin A1 were nothing short of spectacular. The analog like sound quality bettered some of the DAC's I heard in the 10k+ range. After living with CPT for a week, I ordered a new CPT 300 from my dealer. It's like my Lumin A1 has been connected to a new DAC (it's that big of a difference)
Highly recommended. The folks at CPT have created some thing spectacular. Two thumbs up!
When I plugged in the CPT 300, the sound stage got compressed hard and the sound was very thin to the point I was unable to listen. I also notice the volume was much less louder compared to the GE cable, which is very different from everyone finding
i live in Vietnam, using 220v.
Btw, the connector /plug for the CPT was not good that it sparks every time I plug into my Hubble outlet( torus avr20), furutech ncf(act outlet)
although ge ge cable is cheaper, this never happen with their cable
@hieukm, you don't need any other isolation in front or after the CPT power cords. They are they're own isolation for each cord for every component. I would try the CPT-300 straight from wall into components and see how that sounds. You will notice levels of improvement up to +400 hours...
the result still the same when i plug CPT straight from wall. I am just surprised at this performance gap. Let see how much the burn in could help. Uwill report back in 2 weeks
Its great to see your always prompt reply and strong support behind your product. i dont think the product is not working properly. The spark i mentioned was the spark whenever a male connector makes contact with female connector. Low quality plug dont have good contact and create this spark.
I have trust in CPT product with its unique balanced design which would helped with my front end. lets hope burn in process will help and validate my thought.
if things turn out to be alright. i will order the 1800 to go with my PC.
P/S: you guys really need to work on the cord flexibility. the shorter end(male plug) is way too tough to move around. ac inlet for end-user power cord of choice may be a great idea.
Hieukm, When you plug in your power cords into the wall outlet, I hope your audio component is turned off, and then after the power cords are attached on both ends, the audio component is then turned on.
Yes, the cord is "serious" and by that I do mean thick :) I hear you...
I am always here to help. I'm a long time in this business and the only things that matter are the customer and the brand integrity.
I feel confident in my heart that after two weeks later we will hear some positive feedback from you. I have been to Viet Nam and I know the audio scene is quite vibrant there now. We are talking to a few Distributors about representing our products.
I've also jumped on the Equi=Core bandwagon and was really surprised by the improvement over more expensive cables--and right out of the box, too. I'm looking forward to seeing how they break in.
Mark - thank you for being so helpful and responding to my emails on a Sunday.
