Equi=Core 1800

Anybody know anything about these things, Equi=Core 1800/Core Power Technologies? Are they any good? Not looking to buy snake oil. Considering possibly purchasing without auditioning to run Levinson 23.5 amp, Proceed AVP 2, Ayre Codex DAC, Proceed CDD. Anyone? Thanks

Anybody knows what happened with these products?

I have an 1800 and didn't have issues, but back then it was a real mess with Mark and people not receiving their orders, then the comments about the company being sold, then I seem to recall Dan Wright came out saying they wouldn't pursue the acquisition...then I don't know what happened. The thread was apparently removed. It was getting rough as I recall, so no surprise I guess.

But now I receive messages from Audiogon promoting the product line again. Who's owns the product line now and has the producer been reliable?
 @tlong1958 CPT has been bought by Dan Wright of ModWrights. I suspect there will be an announcement from Dan regarding the future of CPT's product line. From my understanding, all products will be developed and shipped to existing customers prior to accepting new orders as the process has not been finalised.
I considered buying an 1800. Concerns about the company’s survival kept me from pulling the trigger
Yes, the 1800 I received way back.  Pulled the plug on the hopes of the Deep Core. I wasn't going to wait this long and even longer. I haven't followed their past much lately. I think they're still waiting it's arrival.

All, I have been on CPT's case for a while and have posted such on various OP's complaints. Being in Australia, I need 240v versions, I only have email access (or posts like this) to communicate what is obviously a frustrating wait for many of you.

I have been in constant communication with Mark and I am confident that the rollout will commence very shortly. I think CPT, and Mark in particular were swamped with the orders for products which promised much, but needed much revision and re-testing. Mark has also suffered physically, most likely from the foreboding job facing him, and a small concern as CPT, which I am sure will grow along with their reputation.

I will be proud to be the first recipient of the 240v versions of all CPT products and plan to give them a rigorous shake down. All I can do is wait for mine, and I am way down the list somewhere, and hope you get yours asap too.

Cheers A.

Did you actually receive your unit from Mark? Many people including myself have ordered units and never received them.
Devilboy, thank you for you response. I actually purchased the 1800 the other day. I don't usually do this type of purchase without and audition. I spoke to Mark from Core Power Tech and he was very convincing. The thing is, how do you know if you have dirty power or not? I have a Fluke scope monitoring my incoming power. The sign wave is partially clipped at the top of the wave and there is noticeable pattern/square pattern running on the neutral. I believe this is noise but am not positive. Hopefully this cleans this all up. Do you have your amp plugged in to the 1200 as well?
I have the 1200. It replaces my longtime reference, the Exactpower EP15A. Trust me, the 1200 is the real deal. Extremely low noise floor. I have a single ended triode driving high efficiency speakers and the system is dead quiet. The system has black backgrounds that bring out fine, inner detail deep within the recordings. More control of dynamic swings. The system sounds more "punchy". Almost like notes are faster, meaning they start and stop faster. More "attack" when needed. Conversely, when notes are supposed to decay, they does so very convincingly....like the shimmer of a cymbal that goes on and on....if that makes sense.
In complex orchestral passages, I can hear more separation of musicians onstage.

I have no relation or affiliation with the company. I’m just a very satisfied owner of a great product. I don’t think it’s a giant-killer, I think it probably IS the giant.
