Eq to pre amp

Hello

What's the best way to connect eq to preamp and power amp. The way I am familiar with is as follows

1. Preamp out to eq in
2. Eq out to power amp in

Option 2

1. Preamp out to eq in
2. Eq out to preamp in
3. Preamp out to power amp in

Please advise best option

Option1 is the only way that makes sense to me. :)

The only alternative is to use the tape loop (when present in the pre) which lets you switch the EQ in and out.

The advantage of the tape loop arrangement is that the extra connections and cables will be in the signal path only when the equalizer is engaged.

Got it. I don't have a tape loop on the preamp. Just rca inputs and outputs

@rohanraman, maybe you can utilize the built in programable parametric equalizers comes with your emotiva mc-700 instead.

yes good idea.. however I Also have a turntable which is not supported by mc700

I also happen to have a phono preamp PS audio. Does the PS audio out connect to my esoteric c03 (preamp) inputs ?

If your phono stage comes with both xlr and rca outputs, you can connect the rca output to mc700 analog input for EQing, connect xlr output to your esoteric c03 balanced input if EQ is not in use.
