My first response to the OPs topic was: "Is this a trick question?".
Apparently not.
With hundreds of topics and thousands of posts per year, it's hard to imagine not getting some value from this forum.
Assuming that one's audio world is completely filed to the brim, and their database related to "all things audio" is complete, there's the still the element of exchange. It's not always a one-way street. Others may benefit from your knowledge and experience. We fix old audio gear (well, at least try to keep it from ending up in a dumpster). There are sites that offer free schematics. The "catch" is that you are required to upload old schematics that you may come across that they don't have in order to download from the library.
My part time gig involves the development of a website where I identify, acknowledge, and celebrate our common links and connections. "Audio" has many sets and subsets. Everything from hardware, tweaking, acoustics, music, composers, musicians -- even the occasion ridiculous and absurd. This forum may not save the world. But, it will add a tad more sanity, and connect people together on a personal level.
The forum also allows us to bring out the best versions of ourselves. Sharing and caring from position of strength and confidence, reaching out to those less familiar with "high performance" audio.
So ...
It's been said: A student is someone that understands they have something to learn." I simply call it intellectual humility.
Having nothing to learn from "others" on this forum is not just arrogant. It's theoretically impossible unless you have a digital bitstream connected to the web and plugged directly into your brain.
